-Ollie Gordon arrested for DIU speeding 82 in a 65 with open container. Status for week 1 uncertain
-Utah State head coach Blake Anderson placed on administrative leave and AD tells players he likely won’t be back. Nate Drieling named interim coach
Per ESPN today at the Big 12 Media Day today in Las Vegas ,
Mike Gundy stated that Ollie Gordon will play in Week 1.
" I'm going to do what's best for Oklahoma State Football , Gundy said,
And I think it's best for Ollie to play. If there is any punishment , it's
making him carry the ball 50 times in the first game."
In a separate comment , Gundy ( referring to NIL ) said to Gordon,
" You're making too much money to not play ".
The NIL just might have an impact on player punishment going forward.

An extremely unpopular opinion ha.....but I LOVE what Gundy said here - and have always said this. Why punish all 100 players for one guy's mistake? If the university declares him eligible - PLAY HIM ffs. Today, especially it's big business - winning games means millions upon millions of dollars - the livelihood of coaches and families+++. This is the NFL 2 - not high school anymore - not that it ever was, they just pretended ...
I have no idea of how you punish him internally (these days) you piss this guy off - he leaves? season over. Back in the day it would mean a near death experience - meet an assistant coach / trainer at 5am for a week at the stadium - run the stands until you puke - while getting screamed at the entire time (including while puking) ha. I would think Gundy runs him after practice some after a consultation- "hey look I gotta run you some ok?, you need to be in better shape anyway...." kinda thing.
Speaking of punishment, why ban the Wolfeman?
Great dude that knows what TF he's doing - just like OG, maybe run him after practice a bit - but let the man work! ...

BA , I agree bud. The fact that players are making so much money will make team
discipline much more problematic as they can hold that over a schools head.
That ought to keep them happy until they can get full blown Union representation.
When that happens look out , because the whole system will go up in smoke.
More disturbing news out of Utah state:
Projected starting corner Andre Seldon Jr found dead Saturday after drowning in a local Utah Swimming Reservoir while cliff diving. Seldon transfered in from new mexico state, and was going to be a major contributor for the Utags this season. very sad news

Kudos to our fellow established and esteemed poster- BRIDGE1- for reminding me, but we have a few other noteworthy situations over the weekend.
Jay Butterfield out at San Jose State, was the BU last year and was projected starting QB this season for Navy Ken and the spartans.
Ty Keyes out at Louisiana Tech, was a Juco transfer from SOuthern miss, but must not be in the mix to get snaps at LT.
Jaden Nixon transfers to WMU by way of Oklahoma State.
Hawai'i starting WR Steven McBride was arrested 2 days ago ,
on charges of domestic abuse and has been suspended indefinitely
from the team. The ' Bows best returning WR had 63 catches for
1,024 yds. last season. Huge loss if he's unable to play .
Agree , I'm thinking more about their matchup vs UCLA .
