It's parlayed with every single other bet I have this weekend, including the Illinois ML and some other things.
If Texas wins it will be positively jaw-dropping. I see 0 chance that it happens.
If Purdue wins, again my jaw will drop. The numbers against them are staggering. Before the last series of garbage time runs, they were trailing Maryland by 403 yards, that is, 400 for Maryland to -3 yards for Purdue. I'm serious. WHO has every heard of such a stat!!!
Only Purdue under Hazell puts up these mind-bogglingly bad numbers. How, how, how, does that improve in one week to beat a big ten 10, ANY big 10 team, teams they have THREE wins against in the Hazell era (and yes They PLAY in the big 10 with 3 wins in 3.5 years) on the road no less??? No way. There is no way they win tomorrow. Only problem with the line is that Illinois has trouble scoring. That's it. They won't lose though. I'd do a backflip if they did for my Purdue season win total but the Illini won't lose this.

Scal,
I was going to rip you a new one, but before did, I’m one of
the actual few to actually try and think.
Why would I, the humble Hawk, want to rip a guy that is
19-6?
Again, I AM NOT, but I wanted to point out a knee jerk
reaction I had that I’ve not seen posted yet. Love to hear your comments.
No doubt Charlie is on the hot seat, and coaching with his
back up against the wall. Really needs to win. And prides himself on his
defense…….
This sounded eerily familiar to me……………….
WAS THIS NOT THE SAME SCENARIO YOU PUT REX RYAN VS. THE
PATRIOTS?
The similarities seemed valid to me at the time, and you
made this the reason to take Buffalo.
Isn’t Charlie in the same boat? Needs to win, taking over
the defense, etc?
Now, let’s point out the differences:
Charlie taking over the defense. Rex has his little (?)
brother, but you gotta think Rex whispers into his ear. He sure isn’t known for
his offense. Charlie is a little unique
in his handling of his assistant coaches. You know that not one of his
assistants is still at the position he was hired for? Does that strike you as
being a bit odd? That would be like
hiring Spurrier and put him in charge of the blocking sled. Or making your defensive
line coach the head of the 49ers………………oh………………….wait.
So, defense? What defense? And now you’re going up against
the Sooners.
Rex was going up against a trivia question at quarterback,
while Charlie is going up against Baker Mayfield. I would say Mayfield is more
NFL-ready that Jacoby Briquette…….
Rex has had some
success vs. The Pats, while Charlie has a much better record than even Rex. And
yet, Charlie is on the outs, while Stoops is going nowhere. Why the panic,
Longjohns?
Rex had Tyrod Taylor, and Texas has………well, two guys not
good enough to keep the job. Now, you can say Taylor sucks, but he went 20/6
last year, 64%, 99 qbr, 5.5 ypc, and vs.
Pats went 27/39 for 246 last week. Half of Beucheles touchdowns have come
against………………………..UTEP. And is an overtime game away from being 1-3. And is
still a freshman. And will make freshman mistakes…….
Well, Scal, great writeup as usual, just thought I’d point
some crap out. Love to hear your thoughts.
Keep pickin’,
Hawk

You could have created your own thread with that write-up and named it "Why classic angles can be applied in certain situations and are terrible in others".
Yes, Rex's life was on the line last Sunday and if Brady was behind center, he would have had a knife stuck in him. BUT we would have been getting about 10.5/11.5 pts so we had the spread to take us home.
The fact that a third stringer would end Rex's career, with how he galvanizes his players, just wasn't possible. Now one week later, I will not have a post on Rams/Bills because I don't know what will happen. The pressure is off and a different attitude permeates that locker room. The angle is gone.
Charlie is not near the coach Rex is, motivationally speaking, over his entire career.
After I saw him get hammered by TCU, his players literally giving up right on the field in a 50-7 loss last year, I knew I could exploit him and his team for wins.
But really, personnel is a major factor. The true freshman at QB and the Smash Brothers health just aren't going to get it done. And you make such a spectacle of your DC. That defense, however bad it is, has a relationship with him! And now that relationship has been permanently severed.
And "Player Down/Other Players Step up" can apply in many situations but not in many others. Example, Brissett's first game against the Texans but not the second against the hungry Bills.
Good write-up.

Calling the game in the middle of the second quarter. We've seen this song and dance how many times before?
I'll tell you.
In EVERY thread I've ever made where my pick has trailed from trolls. And how has it worked out for you Felty? Tell me how it's worked out for you record-wise with the "call the game early" stance?
