This is on the Head Football Coach period. You said a Head Football Coach getting paid millions of dollars job just stands on the sidelines and doenst play, are you kidding me? His job is way more important than "playing" A football team is an extention of its HC and coaches. Fulmer's job is to tell his coaches to get his players ready (via coaching them, motivationg them, and getting them ready to play football). Fulmer as the head ball coach is to oversee everything from gameplans, depth charts, etc. Fulmer knows what kind of offense he has...with a new QB (whose a 4 year junior) you run the ball and control the line of scrimmage. With your returning Offensive line and RB, the gameplan should be to run the ball a minimal of 40 times and mix in short to intermediate passes (which they did on their last TD drive) and occasionally throw downfield off of the playaction. They should of kept the shutgun formation stuff on the shelf until the 2 minute drill. After 3 of the Turnovers you either go for a quick strike down the field or you move the chains. Fulmer also on 3 occasions decided to go for 3 50+ yard FGs which I can honestly say I have never seen before in a college game. The playcalling was such that they knew this kid could kick it a mile long and they called plays on 2nd and 3rd down that didnt get the much needed yards to make a more reasonable kick or to even get a first down. They got maybe 4-5 firstdowns from the 40-30 yardline in the entire game when they started a handful of drives on their own 40+ yard line (Thats awful). However everytime they fell behind in the game they marched downed the field and scored. Where was the focus to do that on the TOs or with the lead? My dad was a football coach at a major D-1 school for years and I grew up around football. I know the inside outs of football in terms of gameplans, personel, and coaching methods. The players didnt execute but Fulmer and his staff didnt put them in the best situations either to win. I can go on and on about this stuff but its not neccessary. I didnt lose alot of money on this game I just wanted to start a thread discussing Phil Fulmer's incapability to lead Tennessee to a special season. Last year the talk was about Lloyd Carr this and that but this year Phil Fulmer will be on the hot seat. He wont be fired but this will be a dissappointing season for the Vols again if he doesnt do something FAST.

You can say that about the entrie SEC, I never bet on SEC games...they are too unpredictable. Its the best conference in college ball (it can be debated though, if that can said for the coaches also or players). The only time I bet on SEC teams is out of conference and the championship game. 4 of the Vols SEC East games comes after their opponent has a bye week. meaning Florida, Georgia and 2 other teams have a bye week before they play the Vols....thats tough sledding for any team

No thats on all those guys in the backfield but I was telling my buddy why dont they call a pass play? 1st and 10 = run, 2 and 5 = run. 1st and goal from the 4.5 = run, 2 and goal = another run....how about a play action pass to the flat . The only reason there being so stubborn and running the ball on those downs is because the coordinator wants to break his own tendacies later in the game or in another game and pass on 1st down and 3rd down...thats it. He's trying to set the trend breaking plays later but that bullshit their running out there isnt helping the team SCORE
Damn this is 3 yards and a cloud of dust. They did the same shit against UCLA.....throw the damn ball or spread the field and run
