We'll kick-off today @ 3-3 after that dreadful Nevada ass-thumping, get a jumpstart with my good-ole MAC showdown:

MOTOR CITY---The MAC runner-up vs. an ex-MAC team, I had the opportunity to see both these teams vs. BG this year.  My initial thought when this match-up was first announced was that this would be an "UNDER" game.  Until I started looking a bit more.  Between these two, some pretty decent opponents this year: UConn, Tenn, SMU, SoMiss, ECU, VaTech, Temple.  LOTS of Bowlers. Most of the match-ups saw the scoreboard working!  Ford Field will not present condition problems like some of these Bowl Games are gonna see the next few days.  And OU alone averaged 31ppg in 12 of their last 14 Games!  Bobcats literally played their final month as a MASH unit...they're healthy now. Solich can flat-out coach...Marshall is without a Coach!  And lastly, the overlooked that always is a factor on BOWLs, TO's!  OU led the nation with 36 FORCED TO's and ranked 7th Div1 in TO margin with +20.  Additionally, a BIG edge on special teams here!!  Don't usually like to play both in 1 Bowl Game, but will here!  OU -2.5 and OVER 49

MEINEKE--Really think a lot of guys are missing one key aspect of this one, and in my opinion it's pretty big.  Do you realize how well Butch Davis and Wannie know each other?!  Both on Jimmy Johnson's staffs...at OK ST, at Miami, and at Dallas!!  Both stress Defense...and both will throw in a few gadget plays.  NC lost a tough Bowl Game last year.  PITT lost it's last 2 this year, to WVU and Cincy, both basically at the final gun.  Tough to come back from...what coulda been, a BCS Game...to this.  Think NC a bit more motivated, a bit better defense, the home crowd.  You know where I'm going here...NORTH CAR + 3

EMERALD BOWL--Speaking of motivated, USC in an "Emerald Bowl"!!  Just keep reading how Pete Carroll "the master motivator" and the world's greatest for knowing "how to prepare" for a Bowl Game...give me a break.  A team that played below their abilities all year (don't tell me they beat a "GOOD" OSU team!), had a below-500 ATS record...and lost to some not-so-good teams!  On the flip, really hard to get overly excited about BC...a team whose only road wins were against VA and MARY (by a TOTAL of 6 pts).  But I like their BOWL experience...11 in a row...and 14 starters from last year's Bowl team...enough that I figure they can use the clock some, play some "D", and plat an over-rated USC team respectably.  We've seen PAC10 Bowl teams so far, and as I eluded to in the first (OreSt/BYU), gotta give ANY dog a look in their Bowl Game.  I'll lean--ONLY lean with BC here--but figure this one to go UNDER 45.5 as my play!
