Some background info on the reffing crew who made the 4th down call for OSU/Michigan

harbaugh had 9 more yards of penalty yardage than osu. worst officiated game i can ever remember and i did not care who won..........

Where do you get this stuff at??  Great info. PI calls were inconsistent, but I agree with Jimmy and Train - the 4th down call was such the official made a judgement call that in no way could be overturned, and if Harbaugh has a girl with anything, he needs to look in the mirror - you can't shoot yourself in the foot as many times as they did and still expect to walk away (fumble inside 5; interceptions leading to 14 Ohio State points).

I heard a couple of those officials also did the OSU vs MSU game last year. You know the game the Buckeyes lost at home that cost them a spot in the CFP.

I understand that but given the judgment call was made by the refs in the OP, the spot was a joke. He spotted it and the TV announcers immediately said it was a first down (based on a favorable spot).

The player made the hit in the backfield, JT flew a bit forward and rode up another players back like he was a slip and slide. The tie there should go to the D. They did everything necessary in the smallest of windows to prevent the first down. It is a joke to think OSU crosses the first down marker there. IMO Michigan should be in the BCS playoffs and I hope they make it somehow. They deserve it. And I can't stand Harbaugh either.

Capron, the lead official for this game was also lead official in the Ohio State vs MSU game last year that cost OSU a CFP spot . He was again lead official in the 2013 Big 10 Championship game that would have sent the Buckeyes to the National Championship game. They lost. And lead official one more time for OSU's only loss in 2003 vs WIS.

Was the Big 10 trying to rig this game for Michigan but the team led by their coach garbage the bed so badly in the second half not even the officials could save them?

He didn't need saving. They stopped them on fourth down.

I was not pulling for OSU, nor Michigan. However, there were some big no calls in OSU's favor. The first down call, they had to go with the call on the field.  But the missed PI call, (my 12 yr old even said, "wow, that was pass interference!").  It didn't make it any better that the refs called PI on Michigan when OSU had the ball.  Very inconsistent calling for such a big game.

Cant even get upset over the 4th down call...no matter what the call on the field was it was going to stand...

But, the 3 non-PI/holding calls on OSU are the joke.  The one at midfield, the OSU defender TACKLED the Michigan WR...the one on Butt, the OSU defender was hugging him...and the one in OT was the EXACT same call against Mich on the last drive and that ball was atleast catchable....

They didn't even bring the chains out....earlier in the game they had gotten tangled.

Horrible mismanagement of the contest.....

your logic is flawed scal and i really appreciate your opinion 99% of the time... but jimmy had this game under his belt with 1 quarter to go up 10. 10 points is not a hair. its double digits last i checked. a good coach does not let this game even get to overtime and that means a good coached team knows how to get more than 6 yards of offense in the 4th quarter....  

silly facts that you UM fans refuse to see is that a team that has been game planning for ohio state for 3 months can only dig up 6 yards off offense in the 4th quarter. Jimmy lost the game and he knows it and his only recourse was to blame the refs because he knows all of his cult followers will take whatever he says as gospel and run with it. any competent team/coach would have NEVER let this game get to overtime. and if they did they lost the chance to determine the outcome which they had sole control over when up by 10 with a championship on the line. bottom line.... coaches get fired for that...

Michigan did not have a 10 point lead in the 4th qtr

Michigan had a whooping 2 possessions in the 4th quarter, and one they lost yds because of a 3rd down sack...oh by the way, OSU scored 3 points in the 4th...because of a terrible PI call that allowed the drive to continue.  

In such a physical game, rival game, its comical that OSU at home had 6 yds of flags....3 Michigan first downs were missed because of missed PI/Def holding...that doesnt even count the missed holding and block in the back calls on the offense...

I dont even care about those missed calls on the offense, because too many flags is a joke...but the missed PI/holding calls on the defense is unacceptable...and when an OSU alum calling the game even calls them out...its pathetic the refs missed them all!!!

The only thing worse than the Michigan fans complaining about the no-calls is the OSU fans who deny it happened...

Atleast all the OSU fans here admit how awful the refs were.  

An OSU cornerback tackled a Mich WR in front of 3 officials and no call 

A Mich player was blindsided right infront of the ref on a punt return when the play was over and no call 

In OT, the OSU cornerback made the same exact play as the Mich corner on the last drive of regualtion...Mich was flagged even though the ball was uncatchable...OSU no flag 

Who knows the outcome of the game, of 1 of the 5 awful missed calls were made...but to deny they were missed is a joke

And, thats not even addressing the missed holding call in OT on the 3rd down crazy run that led to the 4th and 1...or the questionable 4th down call

UM fans??? I'm a Rutgers fan because I live close to the stadium and I follow Purdue.


I have nothing to do with Michigan, have never posted a play on them on this site and still believe the call(s) were bogus in that game.

I can't stress this enough: DO NOT criticize a coach for obtaining a 10 point lead when the coach on the other sideline went DOWN ten in the first place.

Leads come and go in games and these two teams are separated by ONE play.

We all knew that. Except in this game, as seen in that video, OSU got about a half dozen plays in their favor and a tremendous fourth down spot. End of story sir!

As a mich fan that bleeds maize and blue I cannot blame the officiating even though it wasn't great. To me we lost cuz of to's u cannot throw a pick 6 like we did period. To's were the difference in the game to me. And the guy who said same ol same ol losing to thee osu well we could say the same from the 80's to the 90's. and even winning 12 out of 13 (which is awful) we still own h2h against u and big ten championships and national championships! Better football school and most certainly better academic school. U osu fans still have some catching up to do. And that will prove to be rather difficult in the coming years I promise u that. And scal I agree w u that mich is one of the top 4 teams in the country and should b in the playoff. We beat wisc smashed psu and beat col. would love to play wash to get in cuz mich d would smother them. But I do believe bama would kinda stomp us. Give it 2 more years and we will b right there w bama osu and anybody else. Wilton speight (smh). Just wait...
