Navy QB Malcolm Perry became the 3rd QB in FBS history with 1500+ rushing yards and 20+ rushing TD in a season, joining Jordan Lynch of Northern Illinois (2013) and Lamar Jackson of Louisville (2016). people expecting lots of offense? N Illinois lost their bowl game 14-21 Louisville lost their bowl game 9-29. Kansas St. beat Oklahoma this yr, they definitely will not be intimidated by Navy QB. Navy has covered last 5 bowls, streaks rarely get to six. Game under, 1st half game under, navy tt under, navy 1st half tt under, Kansas st. ML

Always like academy's in bowl games...Like the resume of Navy more than KS, Like the AF, Houston wins and were in the Memphis game till the end...OU win doesn't seem so big anymore for KS .. also feel Academy schools always practice and prepare better during bowls..

No opinion on either side but I would lean to the UNDER. Navy is 92nd in pace of play while K-State is 108th. Very different from many of the teams we're seeing this bowl season.

Navy:
loves to run but can put up nearly 40 pts a game with the run game.
Kans St run defense is suspect
Navy has a very healthy 3rd down conversion ratio of 44.44% this year and 46% last 3 games
Navy has 97.5% Red Zone conversion % into pts.
Navy scores evenly between 1st half and 2nd half
KState:
Loves to pass scoring on average 31pts a game
Navy pass defense is not good giving up over 200 yards a game
KState converts 3rd downs at 41.6% and 43% last 3 games
KState Red zone scoring 97.7% this year and 100% last 3 games
KState scores about 15pts in first half and 14 second half
With all players playing and the season stats should be a close game but high scoring with total over 60. Total between 61 and 65

When was the last time K-State defended against the triple-option?
Hard to defend and chews up a ton of clock.
Look at the Air Force game. Washington State had no answer, before you know it, it was halftime and they were down.
I like Navy or the under.

in bowls i generally like to go with teams that are balanced offensively and against teams that can only either run or pass. That's why I thought Air Force had a great matchup vs Wazzou, they only pass and a team that plays backyard pitch and catch wouldnt want to play a tough running team.
But with K State, they arent particularly good at either the run or pass. No players in the top 100 in the country in rushing. None in the top 100 for receiving. Skylar Thompson around 77th in the nation in pass yards and pass rating.
I just dont see any identity with this team, which isnt surprising under a 1st year coach. Not many win a bowl their first year with a new team. Satterfield did, but he was playing another rebuilding, mediocre SEC team that had their starting QB out cuz a teammate broke his face.
Navy doesnt have those issues. They arent fighting with each other after practice. They arent rebuilding. They have probably their best ever player leading them. And they have a true identity.
Their style of play means they don't really get penalties, where K St is in the top 50 in the nation of most penalized. (FSU is top in that stat, something to note for the first game on Tues)
Navy also gets more sacks and tackles for loss than K st.
