I'm taking out number 3 but this could be Tressel's chance to finally prove to me that he is a good coach.  Line up Pryor with an empty backfield and utilize this clear mismatch.  OSU has some fast and good receivers in Thomas, Posier, Carter, and Small/Sanz...If you aggressively game plan, like said above, this poses huge matchup problems with SC.

I still like OSU's defensive line.  Yeah Navy looked good but Navy is hard to game plan for and they did have a good rushing attack last year.  USC will not find running off tackle right for 5 yeards a carry like last week.  The frosh kid will need to make some key 3rd down plays to win this game IFFFFFF the defense plays aggressive and the D Line plays like it did against Texas and Penn St.  If they coach aggresively, I think they have a shot to win.

Completely agree. Barkley DID NOT have to make one important pass to get a first down this weekend. This SJSU game did nothign for him but get him some more reps.

You're not understanding what I was trying to say. I meant you didnt hear USC talk about those games PRIOR to playing them because they were expected to win. USC shows when its an important game, they will show up. Big difference. Bringing up a loss to UCLA, Oregon State, or Stanford has no bearing to this weekends game. NONE. And if you think it does, than stop gambling and leave the site immediately. Take up a different hobby.

How many good teams are in the Pac 10, year to year? USC, Cal, and Oregon are the only ones that are winning teams. AZ, AZ st, Wash, WSU , Stan, all garbage teams. The Big east is more competitive than the Pac 10, top to bottom.

Listen, we're talking about OSU vs. USC here. We're not talking about USC winning the National Championships. Why even talk about the losses USC had in the past? What does that have to do with this weekends game? EVERY GAME IS important, but we're talking USC/OSU Sept 12th. Get your shit together dumb dumb.

I'm not here bitching about USC not being in the National Championship game, or how they were robbed. Some do, I dont. Its their own faults.

You're going off subject kid. Get back on the same path we're on.

Again, your attempt to cut me down by talkign about how crappy the Pac 10 conference is has failed. It doesnt hurt my feelings. Keep trying though.

And I dont pretend to think USC would beat UF this year. I'd take UF in a heartbeat. Best team in the country, and its not even close. But I would have loved to see USC play UF last year. That would have been a great game.

Now come up with something useful for this weekends matchup. Otherwise, keep your mouth shut and let the grown ups talk.

I am a usc homer, but i'm worried about our front 7(other than gallipo),and barkley playing his first road game in the shoe.USC has beaten ohio st 6 straight dating back to the 1974 rose bowl, and after last year, you have to believe ohio st is determined for payback.I think it's the 5 usc tail back tandom versus prior and his "vince young" like potential.I think usc will show multiple blitz packages with taylor mays el al.I have to think if the line goes up to 7.5,i'd have to take ohio st +7.5,but going against pete carroll in a big game is not recommended..

Since I wish that both teams could lose (hate 'em both) I will be forced to take OSU plus the points for a small wager.  Good luck on your plays.  A three point difference will be fine with me, either way.

,USC is gonna win but not cover, tressle is gonna gameplan for ur, and i know u heard it b4, but it is important, tru freshman qb, hes gonna mix up blitzes, key on the run, and OSU is returning 8 starters on d their secondary is gonna have to play extremely well against ur recievers, cause we know they r fast, and please, OSU was looking ahead, last year and this year, hence why i made money against them the past two years. its gonna b close, but USC wins.

I am a trojan homer, but payback is a mutha. It will be  usc's  5 tailback tandom versus pryor's "vince young" like abilities.USC 's front 7 scares me,with the exception of gallipo.I worry about barkley in the shoe, but that talented O line might keep him safe.Usc has beaten ohio st 6 straight meetings dating back to the 1974 rose bowl(i was there ),and you would have to think after last year's drubbing, osu will be fired up to pile it on if barkley or joe mcknight  turns it over.I think taylor mays blitzing will be a major factor in stopping pryor, but then if he checks off and throws deep,sc will get burned. If it goes up to 7.5,i have to take osu and the points, but don't bet against pete carroll in the big game....but this isn't november either.

While its easy to compare TP to VY, lets not pretend to think OSU has as much talent as Texas had that year. Texas was really fast on both sides of the ball. Very good running back, and wide receivers, and a great oline. EVerything OSU DOES NOT HAVE.

And the Texas defense wasnt too shabby.

So while its easy to compare TP to VY because he's a)Black, b) Fast, and c) can run or pass, it stops there and is null since the teams are different.

But like I said, I'm nervous about TP. Love that kid.

You have to look at how the coach has done with this team. Carroll is way overrated, IMO. He has had some great talent come in, that's for sure. Before that, in the NFL, he was a retread coach. His team also plays down to the levels of shitty teams in many cases, esp on the road. USC fan is the one saying that USC is invincible, and you can just look at the Oreg st game last year and see that they are not. They also have a great record in the Rose Bowl recently, which is basically a home game for them. Lots of teams would love to have a home game for a BCS bowl.

I was actually think Godfather since he wanted to bring up the losses to Stanford, Oregon State, and UCLA. Only Godfather is dumb enough to bring those games up when talking USC/OSU. He did the same crap last year.

The reason that Navy almost won against Ohio St is because it was a "look ahead" game for OSU. Meaning, OSU wants to beat USC so badly, they most likely are practicing against a USC defense rather than NAVY.
They have had more than a week to prepare for USC so I think they will be rady.
Yes, USC put a whoop ass on San Jose St but OSU is no San Jose St. It is Barkley's first real road test and I am sure the DLine and Linebackers for OSU will knock Barkely around a little.
Look for this game to be closer than people think. I think USC wins this game by 3-5 points.

They also have a great record in the Rose Bowl recently, which is basically a home game for them. Lots of teams would love to have a home game for a BCS bowl.

YOU ARE AN ABSOLUTE DIPSHIT, DO YOU KNOW THAT?  Pete is overrated? 7 years in a row ending the season in the top 4 with how many BCS wins? One loss on his resume in the BCS. Where is he overrated? His teams havent loss by more than 7 points in what, 7 years?  I want to be overrated if thats overrated.

Who is saying USC is invincible? Who? We know you said OSU was with your infamous thread, but who's saying they are? I personally think they are the 3rd best team right now. I'd like to know who said it. I expect you to dodge this question, YET AGAIN.

Thats the same song and dance that gets you in trouble. Explain to me about OSU looking ahead to USC last year when they played Ohio? How did that turn out? Look ahead crap doesnt always make sense. Its an excuse to use for lazy people like you.

USC quarterback needs to impress me more.  He looked good but, but he couldn't pass the ball more than 15 yards and that was several designed roll out weakside plays.  OSU line will put more pressure on him forcing him to make quicker decsions.  If they don't come up with a game plan to come up with more counters and other plays to keep the OSU D guessing.  OSU will play a defense forcing OSU qb to beat them with the long ball.  Its all about how the qb will plays.  Buy a couple points for OSU and that should be enough.  Feed back on this thinking please!!!

I agree with mooonie1.  Buy a couple of points on OSU, and call it a game.

If any coach in this matchup is overrated it is the sweater vest.  He got outcoached by Les Miles and Roon Zook for God's sake.  He was lucky to have had Dantonio as a defensive coordinator or he would not have beaten Miami.  So he beat Michigan and Llyod Carr for years.  Lloyd Carr was a terrible coach and only one year did the sweater vest have less talent.  He continues to show poor preparation and poor in-game adjustments.  I have been an OSU fan for over 28 years, and he pisses me off.
