Middleman doesn't know what a Big 6 school is!! LOL
What an idiot... And I like how everyone says Wisconsin sucks now. Before the game they were going to smoke TCU because they're so good and they lose so they must not be good. You are all lacking intelligence.

oh Please!!! look at couple of year ago, when Undefeated Utah over Alabama, Undefeated Boise State over Oklahoma, Undefeated TCU over Wisconsin. These are my national champs. Forget the overrated football mills.
BCS need a fucking playoff systems!
Everyone agrees that a playoff system is sorely needed, but we don't have one. And in the absence of a playoff system, beating one top-tier team per year at a neutral site does not equate to a national championship resume. Making it so makes a complete mockery of college football. It would simply be handing the national championship trophy to the team that took the path of least resistance, and then pretend like they are the best team in the nation.
If non BCS schools like TCU and Boise want national championship consideration, then they need to play a schedule worthy of such consideration. That means they need to schedule a minimum of three road games against repectable BSC conference teams like ALL BCS conference schools must do to be worthy of national championship consideration. But to apply a training wheels national championship standard to teams like TCU, while simultaneously applying an almost impossible national championship standard for BCS schools is the height of absurdity.

Here is the resume of last year's national championship team. This is what a national champion's resume looks like. How does TCU compare?
*** Alabama became the first team in major college football history to defeat the last three previous national champions in the same season (24-15 vs '07 champion LSU, 32-13 vs '08 & '06 champion Florida and 37-21 vs '05 champion Texas).
*** Alabama became the first team in major college football history to defeat two straight opponents with at least a 12-0 record (defeated 12-0 Florida in SEC title game and 13-0 Texas in BCS title game).
*** Alabama placed six players on the Associated Press All-American first team. That's the most ever selected from one team (previously five by Oklahoma in '87 & '03).
*** Alabama defeated 10 bowl opponents in 2009. That's the most ever recorded in major college football history.

I don't know about TCU being co-champions, but yea, they're a very good team.
Someone said that TCU would get whooped by 3-5 TD's by a top-tier SEC team. I totally disagree with that statement. But yea, they may lose, but I don't think by 21pts or more.
Can TCU hang with an SEC schedule? I think not. The physicality the SEC has is just too immense for a team like TCU to handle week by week. They sure won't have an undefeated record.
Can TCU beat an SEC team like Auburn in a bowl game? Given that they don't have a brutal schedule that could take a toll on their physical bodies, I would say yes.
Playoffs would be the answer to everything. But to me, I don't think it's ever going to happen anytime soon.
Which team do you guys like for tomorrow? Stanford or VT?

No question TCU is a very good team. TCU recruits some very good athletes out of the talent rich state of Texas. Their recruiting classes usually rank nationally in the 25-35 range, unlike Boise who usually ranks in the 70-80 range. Their recruting and coaching is good enough to instantly be a force in the Big East.
I think the Stanford/Tech is a veritable toss up which would automatically side with the points. I doubt I bet the game however.

Boise and TCU would LOVE to play respectable Big 6 schools on a regular basis. Unfortunately, no one wants to play them. All they can do is beat the teams on their schedule and hope everything else falls into place.

I don't know about TCU, but that is completely untrue with respect to Boise.

Bottom line is that only a playoff system would answer these questions. But IMHO the playoff system would favor the big schools too because they have more depth and can afford to rotate players through to keep them fresh.

I don't want to come out as a conspiracy theorist, but don't you think that these private companies like Capital One, Maaco, Tostitos (national championship game) etc are lobbying to keep the current BCS system? I'm not a business graduate or anything but putting their company name in a bowl game name is a great way to advertise, better than just a 10 second commercial.

TCU played nobody...Including a average Wisconsin team from an awful conference.
Play big boy opponents, then you become a big boy program.
Easy for you to say this, sadly these teams dont get to pick and choose who they play, because I bet you anything Boise and TCU wont back out of a game to prove what they can do.....people just don't give these programs enough credit.
Tcu was playing conservative against Wisconsin, in doing so now people say that they got a lucky win.....

Did you watch the game !They ran for 229 yards about a 5yard average.Someone with your intelligence was calling the plays for Whisky!
Good grief, Wisconsin averaged less yards per play than TCU in that game: Wisc averaged 5.7 ypp and TCU averaged 6.2 ypp... yes Wisconsin had more total yards bc they have a great O-Line and helped moved the chains but the TCU defense buckled down when it needed to. TCU's offense on their three scoring drives scored fairly quickly... led 3.5 quarters of this game and were and are the better team b/c they made the key plays when it counted.

How do u know there are any teams that can beat TCU? U Dont and will never know Cause there isnt a Playoff and until there is a PLAYOFF THERE WILL NEVER BE A NATIONAL CHAMPION in COLLEGE FOOTBALL THE BCS IS A ABSOLUTE DISGRACE AND SHOULD JUST BE DISBANDED
Until someone comes up with an unbiased way to select teams for a playoff while at the same time make fan attendance feasible, the BCS is the best method that college football has for selecting it's national champion.

Um Boise has tried to play a tougher schedule and its the other teams that dont want to.

It's a good question, and one that would keep the backdoor dealers more open and upfront about the process. Not a conspiracy at all. Conspiracy theory=freedom of speech=the way to guard your freedom from those who will gladly steal it from you if you let 'em
It's ALWAYS about making money.

. . . and this article has been thoroughly debunked by the SEC. Six SEC ADs have said they would consider an arrangement with Boise that didn't include a home and home (which is completely unworkable for any major school), but have not been contacted by Boise State. As AD Mal Moore from Alabama blatantly said, "Boise State has not contacted us."
Moreover, several media sources in the south attempted to contact Bleymaier about his assertion that SEC teams won't play Boise, but he hid under his desk and refused to comment. So, upon further review, it appears Gene Bleymaier is the chicken-shit.

LOL sure they will... UNDER THEIR OWN TERMS. Come on you are smarter than to believe another schools proganda aren't you? What do you think Boise is going to say... ahh we will play anyone, anytime, anywhere as long as that is anyone WE PICK, anytime WHEN WE DESIGNATE IT and anywhere AT HOME ON THE BLUE TURF. Only Fresno State under Pat Hill can truely say that they will play anyone, anytime anywhere as he has proven it over the years. There is too much money at stake to not make calculated risks and Boise State does the same thing. Basically what they are doing is trying to bait bigger competition to come to their home.
