seems like a definate trap game with TT getting 7 but I don't know how I can stay away from that. Oklahoma has shown little or no defense against subpar opponents and I would say that this will be by far the best offense they have faced all year. Get your track shoes ready!!!!!!

um... you guys... i already told you, i'm not a fan of either team... Sooner, you call me a homer, but i am nowhere close to a Red Raiders fan... already told you that, so don't try to write-off my points of view as homer...

TRich... Crabtree is not only better than Calvin... he is better than Randy Moss... he is going to blow people away in the NFL...

nothing homer about this... i've been following CFB for almost 30 years, and Crabtree is possibly the best WR i have ever seen on this level...

you can keep claiming i'm a homer, but Tx Tech is not and has not ever been my team... in fact, i have always bet AGAINST Tx Tech when they play Texas and OU, because i know the history that TT gets owned by them... but this Tech team is way different!

if your only argument is to claim i am a homer, then your argument has some serious holes in it...

and by the way... since you have said TT QBs are system QBs who don't excel in the NFL... why don't you tell me what OU QBs have excelled at that level?

Does OU really deserv such a big line. 6.5 at most places but +7 looks like a great offer to me. I think the line will move similar as in the Texas-Texas Tech games. It opened at +6 I believe and closed at +3.

homerlobo; I never said OU qb's have had huge success; the point which is a FACT is Tech plays a college system where all they do is throw the ball with no running game leading to big stats. Look at how many Tech qbs that looked great in college and couldnt make the scout team. The FACT is Bradford is a protypical NFL QB playing in a pro system. Harrell is a great college qb like Kingsbury and will go in the 3rd or 4th round at best. Bradford is a top 3 pick; do some research instead of your homer opinions that make you look foolish.

trich... why are you calling me a homer?  i could care less about Tx Tech!  seriously... you need to come up with something else... it makes you look like you're grasping... like i said, if you are relegated to calling me a homer, then the rest of the argument must be too weak...

here are the facts: both OU and Tx Tech play college systems (not pro systems)... that is why both teams have produced over-hyped QBs who put up gaudy numbers in college and then don't dent a lineup in the NFL...

however, both Bradford AND Harrell will prove to change that... Bradford because he has an extremely quick release (and that is really the only reason he has a chance in the pros), and Harrell because he has amazing field vision and accuracy... both will make it in the pros... neither will be a top 3 pick...

regardless, the whole point of this is that you said Bradford is a possible #1 pick... he is not... not even possible... there is no chance in hell he goes #1... none!  THAT is a fact!

I appreciate the talk about the two teams, that is what is most important to discuss after all...it's a match-up we all want to see, which we can at least agree upon.

I am still looking for the most convincing argument and I have that post picked out...but I will wait until Saturday to choose my play and will credit it to the argument that convinced me most.

(for the lucky winner, you are not liable for my play, as always...it's my money and my choice.  just giving you props for the best capping angle)

In addition, I am interested in the Vegas angle, as irrelevant as it may be in the final outcome of the game...what was Vegas thinking at -7 opening line.  Are they that concerned that the public is going to pound OU for any number like 5 or less?

The lines are getting sharper, it's just amazing to me that books have little faith in TT.

First of all its obvious you are a homer thats not grasping, Second, do you know what a pro and college system is. OU runs a pro style offense do you even watch the NFL. And I am not the one that is saying Tech qbs are system qbs and always fail its every single person that evaluates talent for the NFL; as far as OU qb; noone thought Heupul had a chance in the NFL; Jason White would have made the NFL but had two bad knees and Hybl who was average at best actually made an NFL team not that he ever plays. The difference is Tech plays a COLLEGE system where every qb that plays there puts up 4000 yards every year no matter the qb and then they either dont get drafted or they run the scout team. How old are you 22? Do you read about anything player evaluation? Harrell is Tech best prospect qb prospect but will be lucky to be drafted in the 3rd maybe 2nd round. Your talent evaluation on Bradford is he only has a quick release. That is such a laughable statement its not even worth commenting on. Pick up a scout book or read the internet on projected NFL picks and then get back to me. Arent you the one that said Crabtree would go number 1. Do you know how many WR have ever gone number 1? He is a top 15 pick at best. WR is not a premium position in the NFL. QB's are ask the Cowboys or ask Atlanta. Your arguments make you look like an amateur baffoon. Bring some stats to back it up Kiper.

Wow - nice arguments. Looks like Vegas will have plenty of people on each side of this game.  I'm leaning towards Oklahoma winning by double-digits, even with their defense watching the game from the hospital.  Tech is a good team (actually have some players that will make it to the NFL) with a good coach but the glass slipper gets smashed this week.  You guys comparing like opponents should note the fact that Oklahoma has been able to sit on halftime leads as they have hung "half-a-hundred" on opponents by halftime.

Gomez - I compared the like opponents to briing some balance to the notion that Tech's defense was so much better than OU's defense, that OU couldn't stop Tech, but tech would stop OU, blah, blah, blah

You are correct that most of the games OU has played have been manned by the second team during the 4th quarter.

Sooners should be able to handle Tech again.  I see OU winning by 2 scores 10+

But admittedly, I am an OU homer so consider your source

    BOOMER!!!!!!

trichardson, you sure do have a lot to say about a team that lost to the only decent opponent it has played this year. I hope it is OK with you if Tech goes ahead and plays the game instead of just giving up now.

tamer - well stated...I was thinking Tech might forfeit since they have no chance as trichardson indicates...likely they will show up..

Texas Tech continues to get no respect, this line is a joke. I'll take TT+7 all day long, looking for an OU win, but no cover here, boys.

    TT 31
    OU 34

.....wouldn't be a bit surprised if TT won it outright, just not willing to go ML on it, I'll take the 7......large! GLTA

What everyone should see in this spread of -7 is consistency.  Earlier this year Oklahoma was favored by this same amount against a Texas football team.  They are now favored again by 7 points, this time to Texas Tech.  Don't make a selection in this game, or any game for that matter on the sole premise of Vegas not getting equal money on both sides...What I mean is simple: Don't just select OU because the line is 7 and it seems like Vegas is begging you to bet Texas Tech with the points.  How about watching these football teams play every saturday, capping and crunching the numbers, and coming to a realization that again, the linesmaker's are faultered again with OU being favored at home by 7.  Its going to happen twice now this year for the Sooners.  Texas Tech has the BEST offense in college ball - hands down...and to be honest here, I rate the two defenses as a complete toss up - they both are going to struggle against these offenses (hence the 75 O/U total that was set)  But when it comes down to it, OU can not, and will not stop Texas Tech's offense.

I am not even going to take the points here - Texas Tech ML

If you have not watched Texas Tech play football this year, you are in for a real treat, so dont miss it

I have a hard time not taking TT + 7 here.  Just seems too easy is all, but I have seen TT play and they are for real.  They just have never won the ring, while Okla has in the past, so they don't get that respect until they do.

Let's not forget that the REAL game of football is played on the field.  The game we play -- the gambling game with points -- is almost a fantasy game really.  It's based on perception and where the money goes and where it comes from.

Sure it makes sense that Vegas would give 7 to even things up.  But to assume that means they know some deep secret that assures a Sooner blowout is ridiculous.   I think this is TT's year and they have a good chance of winning outright -- at least a 50/50 chance.  I see this being a 3-4 pt game in the end with the team having the ball last winning.

You can also cap it this way.  Each team has a top 2 Heisman contender at QB.  But one team only has another player in the top 5 for the Heisman at WR.  That's a difference maker.

You ain't gonna see a big play winning argument because, guess what, the line at -7 is about right.  Personally, I like the Sooners just because of the history and a bad ass homefield, but I wouldn't bet the game big under any circumstance.

Tech shocked the hell out of me beating Texas - but that was at home.  They played lights out against OSU and deservedly won the game and their #2 ranking.  Personally, I think they have to come back to earth, i.e., don't/won't play three awesome games against great teams without a subpar game, especially on the road against a team that has dominated them.  But betting big, no way. Good luck to u.

Tough game to cap, Stoops has lost what 2 games in his tenure in Norman? something like that. OU defense is shabby, but I see OU all geared up here. Both teams had a bye week and extra time to prepare...Should be a fun game to watch, I dont know where I am leaning yet.

Maybe this is the winning argument!  I completely agree with you.  I will not play this game big - it's a horrible game to cap if you want to make money.  But, I will ultimately put 1 unit on it eventually.

To be honest, I am going to play OU -6.  Cats out of the bag.  If it's at -7 still, I'll buy it down.  I may have missed my opportunity.

It's going to be a game!
