festo I guess the other 55 teams that came into OU thought they had the same chance. You keep talking about Tech offense but you overlook the best OU offense and possibly best Qb OU had ever had against a team that OU pourous defense EVERY YEAR shuts down playing at home. Ask Nebraska which Tech was lucky to beat if they thought they could stop OU. OU is going to run and pass all over Tech defense. They arent playing SMU and Umass Saturday. The difference between the Kstate and Nebraska game is OU plays their starters ALL GAME so they wont stop at 55 at halftime or the 3rd qtr at 60 they will pour it on. OU at home with the potential number 1 pick in the draft running our offense. Yea I think I will take that to the bank chief.
trich - I agree with all you say. Bradford is the nuts and he will go higher than Harrell in the draft, much better NFL prospect. I just think that the fact that Tech has played in two 7pm national games back to back is going to give them an edge, regardless of OU huge homefield advantage. Stoops and OU do not seem to be at their best under the spotlight - look at the recent bowl record. I am taking Tech and the points....

this is a ridiculously ignorant post... how can you say stat comparison of common opponents is "the most retarded thing I have seen on this site"?
i watched the OU-K St game... that is where i definitively jumped OFF the OU bandwagon... i was appalled at how horrible their defense was... and don't say shit about that game being over at halftime... even up 55-28 at halftime, that game was NOT over...
OU was up 28-7 after the first quarter and let K St tie the game midway through the 2nd... their defense has been a joke since Reynolds went out! anybody who had money on OU in that game (myself included) was more than lucky to cash that ticket... OU is a sham... that much i know... if they win this and get into a BCS game against a legit team with a defense, they will go down hard... Tx Tech on the other hand is a team nobody should want to face...
homefield gives OU a big edge, but Tech is WITHOUT QUESTION the better football team (and yes, the better QB)...
and i am NOT a fan of either team... this is an objective opinion...

lobo - thanks for the backup. while trich has some valid points, especially about home field advantage, some times history becomes meaningless. look at ND last year and Michigan this year. if all you followed was history you would have gotten killed betting on them. different year, different Tech team with a defense and that offensive line is like Fort Knox...OU may certainly win this game but I think it is unwise to bet the farm on a historical precedent of Tech getting handled in Norman. history changes....the other thing to look at is running game. OU's running game has been absent this year while Tech has been solid and consistent....

i wish you had posted this idiotic statement first so i could have saved the time wasted reading the rest...
1) Bradford will most likely not enter the draft this year...
2) if he does, he has a 0% chance of going #1, and almost a 0% chance of going in the first round...
3) will 100% for sure be drafted later than Graham Harrell...
4) the correct answer to who is the best player in college football (beyond a shadow of a doubt), is also your answer to who will be drafted #1... Michael Crabtree...
if he does not get drafted #1, whoever holds the #1 pick needs to fire their Athletic Director...
your comment about Bradford being the #1 pick in the NFL draft exposed you bigtime! he's an outstanding college QB, but is a longshot to ever start for an NFL team...

Lobo - You are just a T.Tech homer.
Common opponents this year -
OU @ K State 58-35 TT @K State 58-28
OU vs Kansas 45-31 TT @ Kansas 63-21
OU vs Neb. 62-28 TT vs Neb 37-31 OT
OU vs Texas 35-45 TT vs Texas 39-33
OU @ Tam 66-28 TT @ Tam 43-25
Looks like the points scored by common opponents are pretty similar but OU scored more on Offense.
OU 1st in Scoring O (51.4 ppg) TT 3rd in scoring O (48 ppg)
OU 57th in scoring D, allowing 24 ppg. TT is 46th in scoring D, allowing 22 ppg
Playing in Norman.
Admittedly I am an OU homer, but looking at the body of work for both teams and comparing scores against similar opponents and the HUGE home field for OU, this should be a Sooner win.
BOOMER!!!!
