this comes from alabama grad and heart is here but i dont disagree
me and a buddy got into it yesterday as I said we had our shot in our house and choked it away... okie st resume is better than ours but honestly bama would be 11-1 in that schedule or 12 0 too... I will not be mad how it plays out, but am good with the outcome regardless...
now when we play them again and probably beat them we will be split national champions and that sux.... period plan and simple....
always a good and well thought out response by you Payne.

be honest with yourself this is not the sec of normal....
you have alabama, lsu, and arkansas, and then georgia then a bunch of mid level teams like south carolina w/o lattimore, florida, etc....
big 12 is a deeper conference this year
Really??? You sure about that?
SEC Big 12
1. LSU 12-0 1. Ok State 11-1
2. Bama 11-1 2. Oklahoma 9-3
3. Arky 10-2 3. Kansas State 10-2
4. Ga 10-3 4. Baylor 9-3
5. USC 10-2 5. Mizzou 7-5
6. Auburn 7-5 6 Texas 7-4
7. Miss State 6-6 7. A&M 6-6
8. Fla 6-6 8. Iowa St 6-6
9. Vandy 6-6 9. Tx Tech 5-7
10. Kentucky 5-7 10. Kansas 2-10
11. Tenn 5-7
12. Ole Miss 2-10
Everyone keeps saying that after the SEC's top 4 or 5 teams, that the rest are garbage... Look above to see the mighty Big 12's awesome lineup.
Below is the SEC's average wins and losses compared to Big 12.. and since the SEC has more teams, I have taken off LSU, who has the best record, and Ole Miss, who has the worst.
SEC 76 wins 44 losses
Big 12 69 wins 45 losses
Now you all can continue your discussion about how overrated the SEC is, and that the Big 12 is the best conference...
I didn't update the wins and losses for this past weekend, but you get an idea of the numbers.

and it never came out of my mouth the big 12 is the best conference...i would say it is a toss up this year with so much parody amongst several teams
i believe alabama and lsu are the two best teams in the country and would beat OSU by double digits honestly but i am a strong believer in you need to win your conference championship to play for a national title because now as a bama fan all we are playign for is split title

This whole conversation sums everything up in a nutshell. I refer once again to what stan van gundy said a few years ago.
In a post-shootaround conversation about the magnitude of tonight's
game between the Magic and defending champion Boston Celtics, Van Gundy
took the opportunity to rail on the idiocy of college football.
"At the end of the day, we're going to get one win or one loss,"
Van Gundy said, downplaying the significance of the game with the
Celtics. "We're not the BCS, where the polls and the power ratings and
all of that ridiculous stuff matters. This is a legitimate sport."
When I prodded him about where his team would be ranked if the NBA were like college football, Van Gundy went on a mini-rant.
"If this were the BCS, I'd have to be lobbying," he said. "In
the BCS, an undefeated team doesn't get a chance to win a championship.
I'm just glad we're in a legitimate sport where it's decided on the
court, not one where it's a beauty pageant, where preseason rankings
matter as much as anything to winning a championship. It's the
most ridiculous thing in sport.
"For me as a fan, Florida has no more claim to the national
championship than USC, Texas, Utah, a bunch of them. Why? Because a
bunch of guys in the media or a bunch of coaches say they're better.
That's not the way sports is supposed to be. I'm not buying it. But if
that's the way they want to run their sport — with a beauty contest —
that's fine. But it doesn't make it legitimate and doesn't make them
(Florida) any more of a national champion than any of those other
teams."

Alabama had a very weak schedule outside of Arkansas and LSU. Oklahoma State beat Baylor, K State, Oklahoma. Bama gets one quality win IMO and Oklahoma State had 3. Oklahoma State should be in the title game, not Bama.

In college football, every game, every win, every loss matters ..... unless you are the SEC then it doesn't really matter. The idiocy of the whole BCS. Alabama chilling at home relaxing and recovering, knowing they were in the title game, while LSU was risking injury to players playing Georgia in a meaningless game. They were in the title game EVEN if they lost. Even if LSU had lost, the SEC would have sent two teams to the title game that could not win their conference. Okla st could have beaten Oklahoma 70-0 and still would not have made the title game.
Other one loss teams have to crawl their way back past several others while Alabama only needed Ok St to lose to get back in? What a joke. I mean, check this out, when Alabama lost to LSU at home they dropped from 2 to 3 in the BCS. So how come when fellow SEC member Arkansas lost to LSU on the road, they dropped from 3 to 8 ????? Losing at home to the #1 team carries more weight than losing on the road to the same #1 team? Why didn't Arkansas drop from 3 to 4. Oh, wait, then it would show obvious manipulation.
That's the BS that's the BCS.

Bama's biggest "win" was their loss to LSU. LSU will roll them on a neutral field. LSU might have the best D and special teams ever. This time someone please score a TD.
