Im not saying Boise st's FG kicker was in on a fix by any stretch of the imagination...

however...

with that being said...

if you dont think sports are fixed, corrupted, or influenced.....then yes....youre an idiot.

i agree with you syddigs, no reason for the kicker to take money to blow his career... he really messed up... there were alot of questionable calls by the refs though in the second half favoring nevada though...

So now we can agree you've gone full blast on the personal insults.  Doesn't bother me.  I have no interest in the Cam Newton investigation.  You'll notice I never said anything about him being innocent or guilty.  I honestly don't care either way.  Its not like we're talking about steroids here and even then I really wouldn't care.

I even agreed with you in saying that I don't believe in fixing but the mere mention of the possibility seemed to enrage you.  Anyway, to address your points....

I never said most teams had a backup kicker.  I said that many teams were in need of a backup kicker.  If they can get a player that punts and kicks instead of just punts don't you see the advantage?  This interest has been openly addressed by a few NFL teams.  There are already several kickers that double as punters or punters that double as kickers.

And I said Kyle Brotzman doubles up as a kicker and a punter which is three roles:  Free kicker, FG kicker, and Punter.

I think the obvious is being ignored here.

Why would anyone pay off the kicker in a two TD spread? Boise has run just about everyone off the field. If one is fixing a game, why would he approach the kicker to fix the game when a team is -14? Quite often, the kicker will have very little effect on a game like this as Boise typically scores TD and he is just responsible for kicking extra points. So to the people who think he fixed the game, you are saying that some gambler paid the kicker off and bet hundreds of thousands of dollars on Boise -14 because the kicker might miss a few FG's, which he very well might never have been asked to attempt if Boise kept scoring TD's.

In addition, if you think the kicker fixed the game, then he must be the most accurate kicker in history because the miss at the end of regulation was so close, some of the Boise players thought it was good. It was extremely close. The second kick wasn't even far off. So if he was in on a fix, he is so damn good and accurate, he has the ability to miss by inches and make it look damn close.

This "fix" theory is the stupidest thing I have read here in a long time!

Why is everyone talking about the 14 point spread and a few thousand dollars? Lets see here, since Boise was -500 on the money line, that means if Vegas had $200,000 bet on the ML on Boise worldwide, they just made $1 MILLION! Brotzmans misses are now relevant!

i believe that some games are but this was not one of those games. these guys just shut down boise in the second half pretty much. we are all human

No disrespect betsunlimited but why doesnt it? If you would of bet $200 on Boise ML you would of lost $1000.00. An accumulation of $200,000 worth of bets on Boise ml would of netted the books a cool $1 million!!

Amen, Syd.  Let's see...Boise defense blows a 17 pt. halftime lead giving up 239 yds rushing in the 2nd half.  I don't believe the Boise kicker had anything to do with that.  Unfortunately, that kid is taking all the heat for a total defensive collapse.  Trust me...that poor kid is hurting one hell of a lot more than anybody's pocketbook right now and would take those kicks back in a heartbeat.

the game was fixed get over it... it happens all the time and its pretty ironic that a pretty reliable kicker misses 2 easy fg's in VEGAS... give me $10k and i would miss a few chip shots too and im sure theres alot of people that would do the same

I NEVER SAID THE GAME WAS FIXED, BUT THINK ABOUT THIS: THE OVER UNDER WAS 68, THE ONLY WAY THAT GAME GOES NEVADA OUTRIGHT AND UNDER WAS FOR BROTZMAN TO MISS BOTH KICKS! FINAL SCORE 34-31 NEVADA. NEVADA DIDNT SEEM TO ME TO WANT TO SCORE A TD AT THE END EITHER, THAT WOULD OF MADE THE FINAL SCORE 37-31, THATS 68 POINTS. IF BROTZMAN MAKES THE OT KICK, THAT MAKES IT 34-31 BOISE, THEN NEVADA TIES IT 34-34 , THATS 68 POINTS ALSO AND THEY GO TO A 2ND OT!    WAKE UP AMERICA!! LOL
