I base this on the opinion , that, while USC looked great vs OSU, that was at home, and it appears as if their QB will struggle mightily on the road, vs a decent team (read : not Virginia) So would not be surprised to see them take another loss. The top SEC teams pretty much play each other and will rack up losses. In the Big 12 , OKL and texas play each other, but OKL doesn't play Missouri for some reason. (8 conf games, in a 12 team conf, WTF??) And the SEC and Big 12 of course have their champ games which would be another tough game to win. If OSU takes care of their business in the Big 10, and wins out, they should have a claim for the NC game, will be interesting, because a 1 loss team from the Big 10 should get in over a 2 loss team from the SEC. Or would a 2 loss USC team get in over a 1 loss OSU team? It will just make the argument for a playoff stronger. By the way, USC lost a BIG playoff game tonight.

Iron mike, that is true, as far as power ratings go, but you have to think that USC will win some games, and win big. If Oh st runs the table, they will have beaten 2 or more teams that have been in the Top 10, and there won't be many teams that will be able to say that.

i understand what you are getting at, but usc doesn't have anybody left on their schedule that will be an impressive win no matter how much they run it up..oregon was their bets opponent and they lost at home to boise..and there are just too many teams for you to jump even if you run the table..lsu georgia oke mizz fla tex etc...but i guess you never know

The loss means shit to Ohio State. All it does is fuck up their strength of schedule. No chance now boy
 
By the way, the real OSU stepped up tonight. Not those choking fucks from Columbus.

iron mike, I agree that most of the Pac 10 teams suck, either that or the Mountain West is very strong. Osu doesn't need to really jump teams; any team that takes care of their own business will jump in the polls because , like last year, there will be a lot of upsets.

I seriously hope this year that there are a bunch of 2 loss teams and then have a team like BYU or Boise run the table....there really needs to be a playoff system in college football... at least between the top four teams.

Before getting into any "back in the hunt" talk the Buckeyes level of play needs to improve light years to compete with top level teams...
 
The loss to USC was no fluke.  The way we've played so far this year (with the exception of YSU ) has been subpar at best.  We play like we've been against Ohio,USC, and Troy we're gonna beat and this season is going to get ugly.
 
 
On the upside we got Chris Wells returning.  If our Defense starts playing again and Pryor matures quickly the Buckeyes might be able to win the Big 10 if they do everything right.  Unlikely IMO though.
 
 
 
Really the only thing we need to be worried about right now is Minn on Sat and need to get ready to play some ball already.
 
 
 
Bucks are my team and Ill be rooting them on the whole way but Godfather to talk about competing for a title right now is stupid.  We have so much fuckin work to do its not even funny.

No chance of nc game . Hell even if the did get there they would just get their ass handed to them again. Bucks lose at least 2 more games this year.

Oh my God I love when Ohio State fans post. I've watched Ohio State play in every game this year and I wouldn't even characterize them as an above average team. They won by 12 points at home against Ohio U. Then they go to an overrated USC team and lose 35 to 3. Then they play Troy at home and get outgained by total yards in the first half and only lead 14 to 10 at halftime before pulling away in second half. In my opinion, Ohio State shouldn't be ranked. They could lose to Minnesota this week. They are that bad. They are honestly one of the worst teams I've watch play this year. Ohio State and UCLA should play in the Vegas Bowl.

this idiot takes his pro ohio st stupidity to a new level.  does he see how bad they suck?  they had a 4 turnover advantage against ohio and barely win the game and he talks about them being in the national title hunt.  does he mean the d2 title

USC was over hyped after beating a worthless Butteye team, who barely beat the powerhouses of Ohio and Troy.
 
The Butteyes have no shot at being in the NC Game and now USC should not either.
 
I love that USC lost this game because it makes the Butteyes look that much worse.

It's called a conference CHAMPIONSHIP game.  See they divide the conference into 2 divisions.  The winner of each division face off in the championship, that way the best team in the conference has proved it on the field.

Kind of like a playoff.

 

BTW, NOBODY except a few OSU homers like you want to see them anywhere near the MNC game.

As a huge Bucks fan I agree that any talk about a National Championship run is unwarranted no way no how but I also think its funny that a guy with a Washington St. avatar is talking smack about Ohio St. give me a freakin break
