Dude - you have to think outside of the box here. The "turn it over to your defense" cliche is exactly what gets coaches in trouble and what lost TX the game tonight.
They had 2 scenarios. You have to assign a probability to both and do the one that gives you the best chance to win.
Tell me how you would think that scenario B above is better than scenario A?

I will ask you to assign probabilities to the following:
A. TT scoring at least a FG with 1 timeout and 1.29 left.
B. You NOT scoring from the 1 yd line on 2 plays.
Then, I will ask you to explain how TX coaches didnt at least instruct their QB to take the play clock under 15 on 7 successive plays. Thats over 1.29 if you add it up.
Please think.

Because things happen like turnovers and goal line stands .
I think the "turn it over to your defense" cliche would apply if say they had a 1 point lead already and then got super conservative and then punted the ball away with 1:29 left .
But in this situation i think you just have to play.

Come on NJ Devil, I know you better than that.
Im INCLUDING goal line stands in to my probabillity.
Take scenario A and give me a percentage, and take scenario B and give me a percentage.
I gave mine above. I doubt you can make an argument that B is higher than A.

Very sharp.
At the VERY LEAST, Mack Brown should be fired for NOT instructing his offense to run the clock down every snap to 1. He had 2 timeouts! They were at the opponent 20 with 3.35 left!
But they ran up to the line and snapped the ball on MANY plays.
Stupid.
