The QB from Florida St that played in the NBA was Charlie Ward. Won the National Championship and Heisman Trophy in football, went to the Sweet Sixteen in basketball, and was picked in the MLB Draft. Nothing to do with this thread but since it was brought up...
I am an SEC homer. I pull against the big dogs in the conf during the year (except for LSU) but pull for them in bowl games. I think every college football fan in the country should be like that. It makes your team look stronger after the season. In my case I could say "At least LSU's 2 losses were to the team that went to the Sugar Bowl and the team that won the National Championship."
Same thing for basketball. If you are a Duke fan you should pull for other ACC teams in the tourney and if you are a UCONN fan you should pull for other Big East teams in the tourney.

Getting up for one or two games a year means nothing. In the other conferences, every weekend is a fight.

Let's suppose for a moment that we accept your premise. Boise State would have a hard time playing in a major conference with weekly games against top competition, although they can obviously get up for one big game. 

All they have to do against Georgia is get up for one big game. Georgia has to worry about a tough SEC slate coming up, starting with a home game against the defending SEC East champs. For Boise, this is the game of the season. Shouldn't your argument predict that this is exactly the sort of spot where they win?

This some what remind me of last year Boise St vs VA Tech. Most of the talk was that VA Tech will kick the crap out of Boise and we all saw what happen. I believe Boise have one more good year left and then they have to replace a few players.  Georgia do have one of the best recruit coming in this year, but can they play the first game under heavy pressure.  Boise did show us they can last year in the last drive to win the game.

My point was week 1 of last year and the same of this year.  I'm not talking about week 2,3,4 yet.  Georgia may lose to Coastal Carolina after they lose to Boise and South Carolina.  So they could be 0 - 3 going into week 4.   I'm focusing on the first game.

Point taken.

Every match-up presents a different set of variables. My point is that Va Tech wasnt ready to play football until about wee k4. They were very sloppy against BSU. If those two teams would have played in late november, Va Tech would have had an easy W.

Whats actually funny about all of this.....is people think boise is just a lucky team. "sec homers" love using the crutch to lean on when there teams get beat....well wer play in the sec, were a little banged up. If you win its because your team is better...right. But if you get beat its because og the schedule...right

I really dont know hired going to win that game as of right now...my whole argument on the matter has been, anyone would be foolish to think georgia would just show up....and that be enough to beat boise.

I really don't see what all the hype on UGA is about... Yes they have Aaron Murray back at QB... he is a great QB... but they lose their best WR they've ever had and their top rusher... they replace a lot on the O-Line

Seems like every year UGA is hyped up before the year starts and every year they turn into a mediocre team...

Boise may have lost Young and Pettis but they are still going to be a team stacked on both sides of the ball with Seniors... Boise has proven themselves time and again that when playing in a big game they pull out all of the stops... Boise knows what UGA did to them a couple years ago and bet they want a little pay back... They have beaten the Pac 10... Big 12... and the ACC... Now they want the SEC... It would be a huge victory for their program


Boise will more than like win this game but I don't know if it will be by 6

I'm not understanding what any of this has to do with 2011. Right off the bat, Boise being favored should make you think twice about betting UGA. The linesmakers know more than most and that not debatable. Boom has proven his worth here year after year so you might want to listen.
