ANN ARBOR -- Brian Smith didn't even want to entertain questions Monday pertaining to suspended Florida wide receiver Antonio Callaway, and for good reason.
The second-year coach at Michigan has his work cut out for him with a young, and unproven, secondary group.
"It's a lot of teaching of fundamentals and footwork at this point," Smith said. "Guys coming in from high school, they're used to doing things a certain way.
"Instead of just teaching them the way we do it and our base fundamentals, we're breaking some bad habits. That's a lot of it right now."
Florida meanwhile is having a much tougher camp than last year according to players interviewed.
Now Don Brown vs Doug Nussmeier, yeah I see what your saying but the players play the game.

I believe Brian Smith was sandbagging just a bit. There is a lot of talent on this team and now they are Harbaughs recruits. But to say Michigan will crush Florida is a bit much. Florida has lost their best offensive weapon AND their leading tackler (Harris) so that helps. Michigan should have a better run game this year and I like the O-line, but WR is sooooo inexperienced. Talented yes, but inexperienced. Same with the secondary.
Really like the addition of Pep Hamilton, QB play should be better.
To say Michigan lost their entire defense is an exaggeration as the D-line has experience along with 5th year senior leader Mike McCray at linebacker.
There are going to be blown coverages, no doubt. How much pressure Don Brown can dial up without exposing the secondary is the key to this game, IMO.
I'm still calling it a toss-up.

Wisconsin -140 to win big ten west seems like a gift

Barring critical injuries I see Wisc. as winner of the East. Northwestern has the best chance to surprise, IMO.
Took Wisc. to win over 10 for -130, now see it at -150 at WilliamHill. Also took Wisc at 4-1 (now 3-1) to win Big10 and Ohio State at +110 (now -125) to win Big 10.

WHat is great about it? Harbaugh has brought in more 5 star recruits the last 2 years than the previous 40 at Michigan...the defense will be top 5 this year , they have studs everywhere

Jimmy, isnt pretty good, Jimmy is great. And this is the first year the field will be filled with his recruits. Michigan will battle for the Big Ten and the playoffs, and next year they will win it all. His 5 star recruits are that of SEC powerhouse Bama/LSU recruits...they might be young, but their are incredible talents with an incredible coach.
Not only do I have them for over 9.5 wins, but also have them +280 to win the Big Ten and +1600 to win it all...Harbaugh shows the college world what he is all about this year...and it will only get better the next 3 years
