Think I'll beat this dead horse some more.............why? because its raining/lightening so I can't go fishing.
Here's some more info for yah;
"They're not coming together," Michigan's secondary and special teams coach said Monday. "I don't know if they're just afraid to make plays, because they have the ability and they've shown the ability. They've done it."
Just not consistently enough, apparently. Aside from sophomore Lavert Hill, who's healthy now and improving in camp, Zordich indicated every other corner spot remains wide open ahead of Michigan's season opener Sept. 2 against Florida.
In other words, no one else has stepped up.
"They show flashes," Zordich said. "They just need to grab it. Somebody ought to grab it and run with it and take it. It's just not happening."
And Soph. K Williams, a DB, has announced he is transferring.
You guys need to see the fact this team is VERY young!

Absolutely, but doesn't mean some can't step up and make instant impacts. Look at OSU's DBs from LY....Hooker and Lattimore were first year starters, and ended up first-rounders in the Draft.
UM's D will be good regardless, but gotta expect some mistakes given the experience.
My question is the QB situation....Is Speight the runaway starter, or is he getting competition from O'Korn?

News is that O'Korn, now a 5th yr senior, is giving Speight a good battle. I'm thinking it's Speights' for now as he has the most Mich. experience and has next year ahead of him. O'Korn was quoted that Pep Hamilton has protection packages that are working for him. I think it will be Speight barring a major meltdown,

Both Hooker and Lattimore were red-shirted so that was their 3rd year in the program.
Michigan has Lavert Hill along with senior Brandon Watson. Hill, a true Soph., DID NOT redshirt and Watson is good in run support but lacking in pass protection. Others vying for a DB spot are former receiver Drake Harris and two freshmen. NO 3rd year players, Watson and Harris excluded.

Forgot to mention David Long, another TRUE Soph. Zordich is publicly trying to light a fire under Long's azz. Long should be starting and has the talent but apparently is lacking consistency.

Of course coaches say this...you need to keep them hungry and fighting....
Unlike the OSU coach who claims this DLine is the best DLine he has EVER coached, even in Tampa Bay
Tell the kids they stink, they are overrated, they cant do it...make them hungry make them want it more
Michigans defense will be better than last year...FACT....guarantee!!!

Michigan is one of the most inexperienced teams in CFB this year.
I don't put a huge amount of credibility in recruiting rankings other than trying to get a general feel for the level of talent overall.
I think Florida is going with Zaire as the starting QB which is a large upgrade from last years assortment of QBs. (not sure about this however.)
Several suspensions for Florida but only Calloway is a significant contributor.
Early line movement went from Mich -5 to Mich -3.5 suggesting possible sharp action on Florida ( pre suspensions).
Florida closed out their season by embarrassing Iowa in a bowl game. Gotta think that has to help getting started this year against another Big 10 team. Michigan lost a close bowl game to FSU but FSU moved the ball at will on them for most of the game.
Florida looks like a decent 1/2 to 1 unit play but no way would I look to increase my plays until we have some data for at least 2-3 games for both teams.

florida has a tough defense. this game can go either way, but please reference the Iowa/Michigan game for more data..
Thank you in advance..
Then reference the 2016 Iowa/Rutgers game before betting the Oct 28th game between Mich/Rutgers. Makes about as much sense.
Florida has a tough defense? Are you sure? Only four returning starters and a new DC.
Iowa has lost it's last five bowl games, maybe not so focused??
Michigan's youth in the secondary and new WR's are reason to take Florida, not much else do I see. Zaire, maybe needs more time? Maybe they bring him in on a series or two. We'll see.

maybe well intentioned by the OP......but this thread should be immediately stricken from ALL records.....by LAW never to be spoken of again.........before we all are homeless...........
The impediment to action advances action - what stands in the way becomes the way.

That's just not true. FSU got about 60% of their yards in the first quarter. Once Michigan adjusted for Peppers being out they really slowed down the FSU offense. Most of FSU's other yardage came from a broken play in the 4th quarter.
They only had 15 first downs in the game and 5 of their 7 second half possessions were 3 & outs. Their passing percentage was 33% and half their rush yards came on one play.

And Michigan players in year two under Don Brown is going to be scary. There will be some growing pains with our secondary but luckily we don't play any great WRs early into the season that's if Callaway stays suspended. Defense doesn't have the experience but we're talented and I think we'll have a better defense and season this year. UF has a great defense too but I think Del Rio is more likely to cost them the game than Speight.

Lol... Zaire is not starting for UF.

1) Malik Zaire just hasn't been consistent enough at all to really be in the mix to start. He'll likely still play, because he can offer some things in the running game that make him worth playing, but him starting would be an absolute curveball at this point. Expect to see him for a package or two against Michigan."

I just don't get they hype about Zaire. What makes matters even worse is that he's left handed. The center and the line need to make adjustments, the ball will be spinning in the opposite direction for the receivers and he'll have Rashan Gary coming from his blind side. They might need 3 qb's.

Tried telling people....Harbaugh is FINALLY coaching his RECRUITS....it doesnt matter if they lose 11 on defense, because the 11 replacements are BETTER!!
Flor has 3 points on offense...game should be a blowout
