Week 1 Plays

Mostly looking to feast on some 14-30pt favorites for week 1.  There are a couple of dogs that I have my eye on and a few of them might be ML plays like UCONN, UDubb, VT, FAU, Oregon State.

So far I have played:

USC -19.5 @ Hawaii

Missou -13.5 vs ILL

UT -28.5 vs Rice

Wiscy -19 @ UNLV

UGA -28 vs ULL

Nebraska -35.5 Vs WKU

Thanks Tiasman and Tideman, good to see you guys back.  Covers seems to suffer from a lot of attrition year in and year out.  I was sort of in a hurry when I posted so I didnt add any write up to those games. 

I'm not in love with UGA because they have an inexperienced QB and a handful of questions.  I'm not really sure what to expect from ULL, but at under 30, I figured I would give it a shot.  Hopefully the line will get over 30 and I might take a look at a middle. 

Nebraska was over that mendoza line of 30.  I dont usually like to cross the 30 based on the rate of covering the 30 point spread, but its too hard not fade the Hilltopers.

I think Zona is going have too much on offense for Toledo to keep up.

jp1- Good luck this season. On a whole I am way down on LSU this year, but I think they come away with the win in Atlanta week 1

I just realized I didnt list Clemson -22.5 vs UNT as a placed wager.

Freak, Week 1 is usually a chalk week for me, but I will play a few dogs SU. 

Bustin, I dont know what to make of LSU at all.  Last couple years have been tough. I'm hoping the offense looks better.

Double UP, my only regret over the past 4 or 5 years of betting CFB is not loading up on chalk in week 1 and 2.  Things get complicated after that, but being mostly a "dog" guy giving 20+ is tough.  What I have found over these years is that the big fav's (14-30) cover more than they dont.  In week 1 and 2, fav's giving less than 10 are more likely to lose SU.  This sort of trend (and I mostly hate that word in wagering) can come to an end at any point. 

Once I get ML numbers I am looking at a few.  UConn, Udub, VT, FAU, Minny, and a couple others will certainly get a look.  I rarely take points, just because I like the ML odds when right.

I'm getting closer to playing ND.  More of a fade of Purdue.  I really find that if you pick and choose your spots with ND you can do well. Its sort of like betting against the whatever the public thinks about ND because of the inflated lines.

Not sure if anyone noticed but LSU is going to be missing about 4 key players including their best TE, and a starting LB. Not sure what that line will look like when it comes back up.
