got tied up for the holiday and was knee deep in ----- so no early wagers yet, just getting caught up but first glance leans are in the mind, will need to check injury status, spots, etc before giving an actual recommendation
TCU - the Hogs suck
Texas Tech - just a gut feel they outscore them for now
Wyoming - good enough to hang with that huge number right?
Wazzu - a bit of a reach here on that line isn't it? pirate plus doub digs
Cal - not a great team this year but catching 7, I'm interested
Ark St - Auburn is laughably bad, 8 qbs and junk play calling
SMU - Grobe isn't Briles, he won't try to score once he's up big, Smu qb status though?
Nevada - 4 td's? why? Dame is solid but come on main
those are the first 8 that stood out to me, will look through everything next several hours and see what I can come up with, good to see the forum thinning out after week 1, few more and we can almost be normal again, I personally went 4-3 on my own bets in week 1 but penn st didn't cover for the late bettors so my recommendations would have been 3-4
thoughts from week 1
how did Clemson find a way not to cover against that pitiful Auburn team, Dabo did a terrible job of clock management and decision making in that game, not a good performance from him, Gus will be fired after this year, that team blows offensively and he's suppose to be a guru, the Auburn defense looks solid though, not bad on that side
the Briles offense may save Charlie's job at UT, still though, he's in year 3 and his defense can't stop a calm breeze, isn't it amazing that fans can find a built in excuse for average coaching such as "well, he's still coaching with Mack players and once he gets his own they will be great" , well guess what, Tom Hermann went 11-1 with someone else's players and has consecutive double digit wins against Florida St and OU, you are either elite or you're not, Tom is, Charlie isn't, he almost found a way to lose that game and led at home by 17 points in the 2nd half, don't be confused UT fans, you have a long way to go but at least you have a 2016 offense unlike poor Les and LSU
Les is done, the feel good story of proving the haters wrong and winning it all this year is over in week 1 and your offense is still dreadful, go hire Hermann or Briles and run an updated offense if you want to win big going forward in Baton Rouge, either of those guys would bring a national title within 5 years, no doubt in my mind, LSU is an amazing program with legit NFL stars everywhere, if you can't score on Wisconsin's slow defense then you can't score, time for a change
Alabama has a mobile QB with a rifle for an arm and the kid has poise, Lane is calling a great offense and that defense is still legit, Bama is only going to get better, if Hurts can stay healthy they have to be considered the SEC favorites, what an impressive team that looks like right now, USC sucks but that was still an awesome display of football in that game, like what I see from the Tide, if we could just put a muzzle on their ridiculous fan base then all would be well in the world
Houston just keep proving everyone wrong, most will jump at the chance to criticize OU and not give enough credit to Houston, OU will most likely win their conference this year and still make the playoff, they just had no business laying double digits to that Houston team, I wish all bets were that easy, I'm not that good though, fuk
the Ole Miss/FSU game was an amazing example of momentum in a college football game, the Rebs were unreal in the first half with that tempo and they allowed FSU to hang in just enough, Hugh got completely outcoached in that second half, his team was better than that result showed, FSU has holes on defense and a young QB, they should be really good in a couple months, Ole Miss could have won that game if they had a better plan in the 2nd half & didn't turn the ball over, the Rebs look like the 2nd best SEC team after week 1, they have a solid team, just gotta stay in it for 60 minutes, like their squad
won't even discuss how bad Bronco was in his debut at UVA, fuk me and fuk that team
did TCU get caught looking ahead in week 1? is that even possible? not very impressive on defense for a Patterson coached team, should have enough to beat down Arkansas though
UCLA/Aggie was a great game, neither team is elite level but both decent with a few elite level players, fun game to watch and could have gone either way
kudos to schools like Alabama, USC, LSU, Wisconsin, Auburn, Clemson, UCLA, Texas A&M, OU, Ole Miss, FSU, Notre Dame and Texas for playing real teams in week 1, that was a heck of an opening week for us as fans, awesome stuff
around today and tomorrow if you want to chat any lines, I'll give my opinion on a game or you can tell me I'm an idiot, either is fine
