I miss football in the 80s and 90s.    I get it, Tom Brady in the Super Bowl means 50% more people watch (compared to any other AFC QB), but that doesn't make me want to watch...not to mention the endless flags, reviews, and promotions.

I don't think I'll be be watching much pro or college.  Found myself watching the WNBA playoffs and enjoying the games more than the NBA (only 1 or 2 stars per team, teams play like teams, less commercials, better officiating, league isn't trying to get  a finals matchup with the best TV ratings) I guess it is time for me to turn in my "man card":

DoubleUp, good to see you back this year. I'm looking to be far more active than I was last year for the football season. What are your thoughts on UNLV -24 this week? I took the points with them last week and they played well against what is expected to be a decent USC team. 24 is a good number for this week but it's hard for me to imagine UTEP is going to have close to enough to keep up offensively. BOL on your board this week! I'm with you on a good number of your picks peace_5

LOL jumping on Hawaii brother?? Good for you my man.  These guys will start 5-0 on the season which is just amazing.  They haven't won over all of the fans yet, which means they still got to put in the work but it should be a good game for the Warriors.  Rice traveling after losing to Houston can't be good.  Reports are Hawaii is worried and focused on this QB and everyone close is expecting a shootout between these two team.  Over might be a consideration.

Couldn't have said it better myself...

My father recently had a box of 80/90's football games on VHS TAPES dubbed over to DVD ...Wow what a difference ..... Makes today's game look like it's played on another planet in quick sand ...The 49ers , Broncos, Skins ,Cowboys , Bears,, Browns, Phins , Rams, Giants, Lions, Eagles , Bengals , Oilers , Raiders , Chargers , Chiefs and of course our Bills were Fantastic to watch ... My kids are blown away by the difference ..
Watched a Dan Fouts game yesterday vs the Raiders where they must have blasted him ,20+times after he threw the ball , and he just gets up like the Terminator ...If that happened twice today you would get arrested on the sideline....I could go on and on about how amazing the game play was ...

The NFL is almost unwatchable , very easy to fool the naive ..Most of the viewers are just into Fantasy ..

The NBA playoffs are a joke , there was no way they were going to put anyone in the finals but LeBron vs the Warriors ... Everything is about to ratings and money ..

You sound a lot like my father, he has fallen in love with the WNBA over the last 5+ years ..TEAM BASKETBALL !!

He says Steph Curry is a joke , 30 years ago they would have undercut  him 5+times  a game like they did Larry Bird .. that jumping into the defender and shooting with one hand while drawing a foul is as soft as it gets..

I couldnt agree more,its almost unbearable to watch the NFL games nowadays.They cant even get right if something is a catch or not,they've manipulated the rules so often they cant even make sense of them,themselves.The player has to make the catch and do a "football move"so its all on a refs interpretation of what a "football move" is,the other rule they can manipulate is,then they have to have possession all the way thru to the end of the play,the "Calvin Johnson rule change".Its all done so officials can call anything they want as a penalty,everything is a officials judgement call.Just listen to the networks so called "expert official in the booth",half the time he cant even figure out what the officials on the field are gonna call after watching a replay.Dont even get me started about all the penalties nowadays,Atlanta had more penalties tonight then they have had in 20 years or something,everytime a receiver gets tackled you have to wait to see if a flag is gonna come flying in,because someone got tackled to hard.I dont even know why teams try and advance a kickoff or punt,they ought to just fair catch everything or take a touchback on a kick off,cause 3/4 of the time they get a penalty,and are further back then where they would of started at.Its absolutely brutal to try and sit thru a game.

UTEP should be relegated ...Leaning on the Rebs , but its a pass for me ...Loved what i saw last week though ....

I was able to get Hawaii to win the MWC +50,000 in the 3rd quarter of the Hawaii/Colorado St game.  Gonna be tough to beat Boise St, but that was some serious value. 

What do you think of TCU -13 1st half?  I need a winner after the falcons sh!t the bed last night...

Sorry brother let me clarify..

I'm saying oddsmakers are extremely sharp, it does not matter if there's 60,  90 or 3000 college games per weekend they're going to do their job ... The difference is the college game has more blowouts and coaches who are willing to keep the pedal to the floor for 4 quarters.   

The NFL outcomes can be manipulated by the refs at any time. Combined with coaches who don't care about point spreads or winning margins make it almost impossible for Gamblers to win . ..

That Falcons Eagles game last night was one of the worst football games I've watched at any level in 30 years...

Come game week this line could be a TD plus , If the Red Raiders are 1-3 this could be the nail in Kingsbury's coffin ...

That was such a frustrating game to watch, I thought Atlanta was clearly the better team last night, they were like a few inches away from making plays all night.  That game really couldve been a blow out, but so many mistakes, like the opening drive when they were held at the 1, Ryan had Freeman open in the endzone but had a bad throw, then there was the int at the 5 yard line, a 52 yard completion just missed, the roughing the passer in the endzone, the missed XP, the 3rd and 9 they let sproles get on the final drive, the face mask penalties, and even on the last play of the game if the ball is 6" lower Julio might get his feet down... 

That really messed my week up... I think it's time for people to stop talking about Julio like he's on the same level as Antonio Brown.  That's so disrespectful to AB...

Matt Ryan is a great QB w no pressure on....and between the 20's.  But you could just FEEL he wasn't going to get it done when it meant the most.
