PS..... Lets not even mention anything about 49ers not drafting Rodgers and instead taking Alex Smith. Lets. Just. Not.
1984 Orange bowl. Miami wins 31-30 over Nebraska when the Cornhuskers decide to go for 2 and play for the win instead of kicking the extra point to tie the game. Just a great, great football game to watch!!

Definitely the 1984 Orange Bowl....we had a house in Lincoln when I was 2 -lived there a few years...and that was the first college game I remember watching.
Went to the U..first game was Sept 1988..neon Deion and fsu preseason ranked #1 and we beat them 31-0.
Best game I ever broadcast was with Tod Wright and Lebatard when we beat ND 27-10 Thanksgiving weekend in 1989.
My mom came down for the game /weekend...met my gf for the first time.

Love this post, really gets my memory going. My first memories of college football were on the radio when we would go on weekend camping trips when I was a kid, mainly listening to Florida state games.
The game that comes to mind though is the “choke at doak” in 1994, Florida vs FSU. I remember watching it on some super small tv in our RV at a campground with a fire going outside(smiling as I type this!). My dad is still a huge FSU fan(even though I’m not anymore), so it definitely is one that hooked me.

Can't even place the year exactly but it was the mid to late '90s as an 8 or 9yo kid going to Sanford to watch UGA vs Tennessee. Now keep in mind UGA was very average in the 90's and Tennessee was pretty good so we got steamrolled. But I'll never forget the atmosphere... despite having a pretty lackluster team, the environment was absolutely raucous. I remember students chanting things and my dad cringing because he didn't want me to hear it lol. Our seats were right next to the Tennessee band so I heard "Rocky Top" at least 100 times. From that point on, I was hooked.

1978 Auburn vs Tennesee Legion Field..Auburn won like 27 to 10..I thought it was greater than Disney World.Seeing all those gorgeous cheerleaders. The Orange and Blue pom poms....The crowd going wild..I had played in a 65 lb football league as we were 0-25 I think in practice scrimmages over the other Vestavia team whose Qb ended up being my roomate at Auburn..I feel like Im a kid on Christmas many Fall Saturday mornings.Im a sports junkie and its why Im single at 49 but that is changing soon..

Good stuff yeah that Orange Bowl in '85--Boomer Schooner delay of game penalty cost the Sooners..I remember those Florida/Florida State games became a big rivalry by the early '80s!
