What does money have to do with any of this? Are the SEC fans that are always bragging about teams success other than their owns getting any of that money? No. I'd rather have my team playing in a weak BCS conference so that it's easier to win games. That, like you bring up, makes money for your school and also gives them a BCS game more often than not. I'd rather play in the Big 12 and win 10+ games consistently than play in the SEC and have an 8-4 season be called good because the conf. is so strong, but not get to a good bowl game. Why not take easier competition so you get a chance at the title more years?
In my mind the SEC is having a down year. They have three teams that can be called top 10 in my mind, and those are UGA, UF and LSU. Out of those three I think only UGA has a realistic chance of winning the championship. Them and OU are the two teams I think could give USC a run for the title, and possibly Texas. Florida would get crushed by USC. Too much defense. Florida would give up at least 30 and would be lucky to score more than 20. I'm not saying UF is a bad team, because they're very talented. They just aren't a top tier team like the other four I mentioned, and they are the second best in the conference. LSU has serious questions at the QB position and with that you can't be a legit title contender.
LSU, Auburn, and Alabama would all come third in the Big 12 at best. Florida might end up third in that conference too.
Once again though, who gives a shit. Only the title winner has a right to brag, and right now it looks to me like that will be Southern California, whether you guys think they play in a good conference or not.

None of the top 6 teams in the SEC would finish third in the Little 12 are you kidding?? Geez what a dumbazz!!! If USC played in the SEC they would lose 3 games a year!! Maybe more!! Week in and out of physical football them puzzies couldnt handle it!! Right now the title is in the SEC( Has been for 2 years and has been in this conference MORE THAN ANY OTHER CONFERENCE!!!) and until january and somebody or some other conference wins it its THE SEC"S till then NUMBNUTS!!!

Jesus...I guess I stumbled on another SEC/Pac-10/Big-12/Big-10 pissing contest. I swear to god, listening to SEC fans continue to rant and rave about their conference is like the Civil War all over again. You southerners want to secede from the NCAA just like you tried to 150 years ago! It should be college football in one corner, and the SEC in the other.
The SEC is a great conference, probably the best. But I get so tired people defending how great they are and how their shit don't stink. Unfortunately, there is parity within all the conferences and we don't have a playoff right now but some of the drivel from SEC fans (and other conference fans for that matter also) is just pathetic.
"Look at our bowl record!"
"So and so lost to this team and stink"
"My dad can beat up your dad"
Alright, I'm done ranting. It just seems to me like the SEC fans want their own division of football to make some kind of statement. Good luck getting that guys!

Tennessee fire Fulmer? I wish. He has a good year about every third year and they give him a raise and an extension. I think his contract runs until 2014 or something crazy like that. At least once every year or so, sometimes more often, TN loses to an inferior team or goes to the West Coach and loses to a team they should beat. UCLA this year (this powerful team lost 59-0 to BYU after TN lost to them. WOW!), Cal last year if I remember correctly.Washington 2-3 years ago. He does not get them ready or inspire them. They read the Knoxville paper and think they are hot stuff and then don't play hard. I am a Tennessee fan, too, among other teams. My best win last year was TN +7.5 in the SEC Championship Game. I had bet it again at +7, pushed on it. I really don't like Fulmer. Having been raised in the SWC (now dead) and lived in the SEC area most of my many years, I am partial to the SEC. I think the Pac 10 has one good team this year, I think it had three last year, maybe four. I look for USC to meet either Florida or Oklahoma in the big game however LSU will do well and maybe Alabama. I look for Georgia to lose at least two games and then cry because they did not win the SEC and want to be number 1 again. Good luck on your plays.

The reason that the SEC fans have to defend their conference is because of all of the commentators on TV that constantly talk about how great Ohio State and USC are. They make it sound like the SEC is not as good as USC or OSU because their out of conference schedule is not as strong. If you listened to any sports talk radio you would realize that OSU and USC fans are just as bad if not worse.

Your statement makes no sense. You're comparing what commentators say about one team from the Pac-10 and the Big-10 to your whole conference...
OSU has dominated the Big-10 the last few years just like the Pac-10 has been dominated by USC. What does praise for them have to do with the SEC as a whole? For god's sake, you had five teams in the Top 10 last week! How much more respect do you need? And OSU & USC should be praised for being very good programs. OSU has been to 3 national championships in 6 years and USC is 5-1 in BCS bowl games under Carroll!
But in no way should their success have anything to do with how the SEC gets a bad wrap. Top to bottom, I believe the SEC is the best conference and I'm a USC Trojans fan! And who cares what TV commentators think. Do they influence the BCS? What about sports radio talkshow hosts?

I will admit the sec is strong but so is Ga Tech. Obviously I am a acc guy and the confrence sucks this year so have to get a jab in when they defeat a sec school.

Pac 10 is still a good conference. They are right behind SEC for sure. SEC is good, but not nearly as good as everyone is making them out to be. I think USC could beat any team in the SEC. I think SEC depth is better than Pac 10, but there bottom team and our bottom team arent far off. Im hoping to see USC vs any SEC team in the national championship

They are? Who is good besides UCLA? I mean the other teams are horrendous. I would say the Big 12 is comparable to the SEC

This thread is going nowhere, Why do we talk about thing that is never going to happen and that means it is useless to talk about them. What if USC is in the SEC they would lose 3 games? We would never find out. All I know is that when USC plays Auburn, Alabama, Arkansas, Oklahoma recently and they beat the crap out of them. out

This thread is like someone from Washington St coming out and saying the Pac 10 is the best conference becuz USC is #1 and we are in the same conference, so that make us look good. Give me a break ..

Pac 10 can't claim too much this year... USC is as good as anyone out there, but after USC there is no depth in the conference... SEC and Big 12 are incredibly deep right now...
you can try to make the argument that USC would be the best in either of those conferences, but you can't really argue that the Pac 10 is better than either of them right now...

seriously? This thread is getting worse with each post you make. Each analyst would say the SEC is better than OSU or USC, so i'm just curious if you even know what you're talking about...
