Lets not forget guys that the books don't catch up until about week 5 or 6. 1st 4 weeks of college foots is a cash cow for square bettors...

WOW, I didn't know I was a square cause I did better in the 1st 5 weeks. I always liked to think it was cause Vegas had soft lines. Never knew I was a square.

It's even more than that:   the nfl lines are pretty damn sharp.. IMHO
NOBODY..... I MEAN NOBODY (except books and touts)
MAKES MONEY BETTING NFL WEEK IN WEEK OUT

Give me 21 and I'll take the Terps. Put it at 13 or less and I'll go with CAL. Put it in the middle and I'll sit out.

kaplan- you have a better chance of seeing god than getting under 13. I think 16 would be a gift

By the time you know the company so do odds makers and everybody else, hence the lines become sharper.  I like to bet early and find these teams before odds makers figure them out.  But if waiting 4 weeks in has worked for you, more power to you.  GL this season Wizer.

Kaplan: If it goes under 13, then I will drop a bundle on the Bears as well... But I highly doubt it bro.  Even at over 21, I think the Terps are shakey at best.  I'll prob just roll with the other games on the board, especially since I'm skeptical about this Terps squad.  By the way I live in Bethesda, Md.  and have kept close tabs on the Terps

It depends on what you mean by everybody else.

95% of the people wagering on sports in the USA, including most on this  forum, wont show a profit by NCAA/NFL seasons end.. 5% will. I look at the season as one big apple pie. people can split it up any way they like.

Some lines become sharper, not all...I like to bet late so I can figure the oddsmakers p game theyre trying to play with the public.  Wheather you bet early Sept  or bet late, Nov, Dec, January. IMO there are more oppourtuniies finding loopholes in the line during the ladder stages of the NFL/NCAA seasons than in the early 1 month..of Sept. Im a stat man/power rating junkie.

AGree I  liked CAL months ago when I though they might be laying 14 or less ... Now I Feel the Line might be 20+ and that would put me on the TERPS..

most Likely 16.5-17.5 and I stay away ...

wizer- All I mean is that I don't get 6 weeks to evaluate the games like this all yr. The 1st 2,3 weeks I have already broken down the game and just have to tweak it a lil if I see soemthign in their 1st couple of games. I really think that is the part that makes the regular guys have a better chance as well as Vegas not in mid season form.
 
As you said though, to each his own, and if yours works for you, I will know who to talk to come Nov

No way i could sit thats why i believe the first 4 weeks are a great spot to make big gains on Vegas.

The Cal game is going to be 17 or 18 and I would take Cal in a heart beat.  UMd is going to be bad this year - their lines are a complete shambles and lack experience.  Add in that Fridge's teams struggle out of the gate not covering the opener in 6 years - take Cal.  Think of it this way.  What happened the last time Cal went east and got walloped by an opponent - 2006 v. Tennessee.  they came back the next year when the Vols visited Berkley and kicked their tails up and down the field.

take the terps at your own peril this year.  I think they are big time fade this year.
