i find it hilarious that people are 1) surprised by USC's demise this year, and 2) surprised that Carroll could be on the hot seat...

why is it funny?  because midway through last season i told everyone that Jim Harbaugh is a better coach than Pete Carroll, and that by the end of this season EVERYONE would know that is true... i was, of course, laughed at and mocked...

but in the end, i am once again right... Carroll is a decent coach, but by no means one of the best in college football...

i believe my exact words last year were, if USC was smart, they would throw a truckload of money at Harbaugh and steal him from Stanford...

you guys finally are seeing how true that is...

LOL, I can't agree with that at all. When you lose your OC & DC in the same off season, not to mention most of your front 7 on D, & start a true frosh @ qb, you're not gonna have a great year. Harbaugh is a good coach but he has a long fuckin way to go to be considered "a better coach than Pete Carroll". ........& PC is NOT on any hot seat. So I don't know what you think you are "right" about......

if anything i think this post shows just how great the usc program is in general. with all the changes at the coaching levels for usc and all the talent lost to the next level and 8-3 yr and people are considering pc's job in danger? wow.

 

usc will be back. we all know that. i think in a way pete conceded this yr to allow barkley to have a season of work and experience under his belt. kinda sucks for usc fans this yr but i think when barkley and co come in next yr they will be the team to beat. pc used this season to jockey himself and the program into nc contention for the next 2-3 yrs. barkley will possibly have 3 yrs at the helm of all these 4 and 5 star talents that usc regularly recruit.

Yeah, Pete is on his way out, to go BANG that co-ed in Malibu.......Good for him.

Pete Carroll walks on water in LA. Only John Wooden has garnered the amount of respect that Carroll has. Howland over at UCLA, is nowhere near as respected as Carroll, and he has an impressive record (prior to this year) The only Pac 10 coach that would be worthy of going to Notre Dame (assuming he wanted to, most coaches dont give it the respect the media does) is Jim Harbaugh.

USC will be very tough again next year, only if they change their offensive coordinator. Sarkisian is an absolute wizard offensively, and his departure was a glaring hole in the play calling this season. The only heat in the program, is on the offensive coordinator.

You are nuts!  I'm not even a fan of SC (I went to Arizona State) but Pete is going nowhere.  He is a God in LA, a great coach and mentor and will be going no where.....pull your head out of your ass!

How do you know that he isn't being fired or forced out.  You know that happens quite a bit.  To save face, they don't call it a firing.
