Cincy 118th in the nation in sacks allowed.. Louisville 3rd in the nation in sacks.. Louisville 33rd in the nation in sacks allowed.. Cincy 58th in the nation in sacks.. Louisville 18th in the nation in the running game.. The O-Line/D-Line matchup looks to go to Louisville..

I dont know tough one to call, cinci nor lville that impressive. seems like cinci may have played a tougher schedule.

from the trends I am seeing I fully expect this line to creep back to 3 possibly even 3.5 so if you are going to back cincy grab it now.  louisville backers wait to get your full fieldgoal and possibly a hook.

I believe these teams are pretty evenly matched (ie the both suck)

In this case I will trust what I see the books doing.

Public seems pretty much split down the middle however recent line trends are moving back towards cincy.     I will watch tomorrow but I am leaning cincy.   Grabed a small play at -2.5 to beat the line move.     15 out of 18 seem to be back to 3.

8 of louivilles 17 sacks came against IAA EKY
5 came against memphis (may as well be IAA)

so that is 4 sacks spread out over the other 3 games against "real" teams.

so far this season, Cin & Lou broke the 30pt mark offensively twice (each)... in both those games (each) they ran for 200+ yds...
All the other games they played, they never broke 200 and never scored past 30...
With Cincinnati's rush def allowing 84.8 yds/gm and Louisville's rush def allowing 147.6yds/gm, I just dont see a 31-28 score.
[Offensively, CIN avg 178.6yds & LOU avg 218.0yds]
All I see is TURNOVERS and field positioning...
Cincinnati's QB Tony Pike and WR Mardy Gilyard, the key players of an offense that lit up scoreboards across the league the last two seasons, are gone. Coach Brian Kelly bolted for Notre Dame. New coach Butch Jones is still getting settled in his new job.
This isn't the same Cincy team at all.... Louisville's pass offense (243.4 yd/gm) won't have any trouble passing on Cincy's pass def (allowing 267.6 yd/gm). The stat that scares me is the TURNOVERS that Louiville has... 2,3,2,2,0 (0 against Memphis). If it wasn't for that, I would be on Louiville +3...
I'LL JUST STICK TO THE UNDER 58.5

I think these teams match-up well together. I see a low scoring (less than 45), well fought game. I always like getting points in a spot like this and feel venue may be the only difference here.

Cincy's averaging almost 13 points less on the road, albeit against stiff competition while traveling, but they're facing a team that has outgained their oponents in their last 4 games by an average of 202.3 yards. Even in Louisville's loss to Oregon State they outgained them by 134 yards. With Cincy averaging 29 points against on the road and Louisvilles ability to move the ball I feel this game will be won with clock management. If Louisville can keep the ball away from Cincy, they should win this game outright.  

Final play... Louisville + 2.5.

Not too mention, this line has dropped a point with Cincy being more of a household name with its reputation from years past. (Just my opinion)

on the flip side of that.. Cincy allowed 7 sacks against Fresno, 2 against Indiana State, 5 against NC State, 2 against Oklahoma, and 1 against Miami (OH).. other then the Miami (OH) game, Cincy can't stop any pass rush.. especially considering the Fresno and NC State games were on the road..

at least they are showing improvement
if you trend that out they should give up 0 tonight
actually only giving up 2 against the sooners I would consider pretty good.  

Sure they will give up a few sacks.  was just saying the l'ville D isn't the 85 bears reincarnated.   they are average to a bit below.

also guys.  a bit a geography.   Cincy is driving 1.5 hours down the interstate for this road game.    not your typical road game.  no flight, no hotel.

Why is Cincinnati favored here? This is a backyard rivalry and Cinci has won the last 2 years. I look for Louisville to win this game at home tonight as Friday night Home Dogs!
