I see F-Donk has been successfully quieted down. Normally I wouldn't say anything but yeah, that guy was a clown. I find it hilarious how he reposted Shep's 4 losses, out of 23 games. That's just asking for trouble. He deserves to be banished for about two weeks for that stunt. 19-4 is an amazing record. Shep, keep up the good work buddy, it's a long season, so bet long and prosper. I will try not to jinx you by making the same picks as you.

Before I post my remarks I'd like to say that I am not a USC fan. My team is Texas Tech. Having gotten that out of the way, let me just say that OSU has no chance of covering or winning this game. Beanie Wells, Orson Wells, Wells Fargo,,, it doesn't matter who they have running the ball back there they simply do not have the athletes that USC does. This team has several future NFL players on defense. You thought FLA and LSU were fast? just wait til they take the field against USC. Sanchez is a top qb and they are 4 deep at rb. These slow, thick legged big 10 players and their 1970's offense is going to get slaughtered. -10? are you kidding me? I can't believe it's that low. I'm loading up. its gonna be a blood bath

I hope Shep is right, I am a USC homer so my reasons to pick them is bias.. I strongly feel that USC will win this game and hoping that they will cover the spread also.. I can't remember the last time Ohio St beat USC? GO Trojans

Plus I personally think that the Pac Ten is a better conference .USC, Oregon, Cal are better than Ohio St, Penn st, Michigan.. Just my bias opinion anyway..

If your not a Buckeyes fan, how can you pick against at USC at home?
USC is 11-1 against non-conference teams in the top 10 of the AP poll since 2002, including wins over then #3 Iowa 38-17, #6 Auburn 23-0 at Auburn, #2 Oklahoma in the BCS Championship game in '04 55-19.. The only loss was of course to Texas in the BCS championship in '05 by a TD..
Look at who Ohio State has played in the top 10 of the AP poll since 2002.. they beat #10 Washington State 25-7, #1 Miami 31-24 in the BCS national championship, #10 K-State 35-28, losing to Texas '05 25-22 (the same team that beat USC in 05), beat Texas in '06 24-7, and of course their pair of national championship losses in to #2 Florida and LSU.. collective record 4-3..
USC is almost always prepared for their big games, and with an extra week to prepare for OSU and with Bennie Wells at less then 100%, one of the most gifted defenses, USC should easily cover this spread

sorry, i ment USC is 3-1 against the top 10 in the AP poll, not 11-1.. typing error
also note that i didn't include conference games, which is why you don't see OSU vs Michigan or USC vs Oregon in any of those games, strictly non-conference

I have to say I thought the line would be lower. I think people are making too big of a deal about the Ohio game. How often do teams look ahead? That seems to be what happened to the Buckeyes. They were clearly overconfident, and why wouldn't they be?
Does anyone know the actual status on Beanie Wells? Tressel is clearly playing the injury pretty close to his vest. It is a big factor in the game, because Wells can pound the ball, burn some clock and keep USC's offense off the field.
I can't say I'm sold on Sanchez either. He looked good against a questionable VA team, but didn't look so hot against a well-coached Stanford team last year. Ohio St is talented on defense and with a good game plan may be able to get a couple stops.
The main question is whether or not SC can get out to an early lead. OSU doesn't seem to be built to come from behind and they don't have the QB/receivers to make explosive plays.
As much as I want to take those points with a good team like Ohio St, all I can think about is some of the drubbings SC has put on visiting, non-conference, highly regarded foes in the colliseum in recent years. As of now, this one has to be a no-bet for me, but I know this game is going to show up in my weekly pool this afternoon, and I am going to have to pick a side.
I'm hoping for a good game, and I would like to see Sanchez be as good as some of you guys are saying. I'm not a big SC or Pac 10 fan, but there is nothing better than watching Pete Carrol coach one of those well-oiled machines he brings in.

I have to agree with the USC folks here....there is just no way to justify the Buckeyes covering the spread in this game. Say what you will about OSU looking ahead past Ohio in last weeks game but the simple fact is this. You can not give Pete Carroll 2 full weeks to prepare for any team. Chris Wells is NOT going to be at full strength in this game and USC is really missing nobody. Its pretty safe to bet that USC did not even pull out all of the stops in smashing Virginia in week 1 and that they have an entire package just waiting for OSU. Trust on this one......USC covers here and it will be shockingly easy.
USC -10.5

every year that OSU looks good they get humbled by a mediocre team (ie Illinois last year) or humiliated by a good team (ie LSU last year). USC is built to compete with the best in college football while OSU is beat to handle their weak little conference. SC in a blowout... (not 52-10, maybe more like 39-17)
USC -10 (hook it early, it will skyrocket)
and shout out to shepherd. Good stuff man. I use you as a way of reinforcing my college picks. If my instincts sync up with your plays, I lock them in. Keep up the good capping.

HOLY COW !!! Nice going Shepherd !!! Maybe you can help me out for week 3 !! The best that I ever done in one week was about 5 to 6 years ago, when I was in Reno. I went 14 - 1 in college football. The only game that I lost was: SJS + 17 at Fresno. I took SJS & the points & Fresno BEAT us like 63 to 14. The WORST that I've ever did in college football for one week was about 2 to 3 years ago when I went like 4 - 15.................OUCH !!!!!! I usually win about 65 to 70% of my college football bets weekly. Shepherd, KEEP UP the GREAT work, my friend !!!!

thanks LR... i actually went 16-4 over the first two weeks last year, and i immediately guaranteed a couple friends of mine that i would do better this year... so i'm glad i was able to deliver...
i'm hoping to bump it up to around 18-2 next year... i still made a couple of bets i should have stayed away from...

This will be Ohio St national championship game. And we all know how they've been performing on the big stage. This team revolves around Beanie Wells. Outside of him, no one on the team can take the game into their hands. He was the only limelight they had in the championship game, and when they stopped handing him the ball, for whatever reason, they lacked the depth people have been boasting about to win the game.
For the last two years, they were suppose to wipe their ass with the big name schools, but they look like they're becoming a constipated team every year.
But, Ohio St is a bettors best friend, and I will continue to take them throughout the year. I just hope this game doesn't destroy their positive attitude.

USC in a rout. Home field, team speed, more talent, and one of the best coaches in college football. Ohio State is gonna have flash-backs to the LSU and Florida games....
