The more I think about this game, the more appetizing 10.5 sounds.  Yeah, I remember LSU and I remember Florida.  I bet OSU against Florida and I talked myself out of betting LSU.  USC is USC, and I understand that, but they aren't the SEC.  This USC team at this point in the season is not as good as the LSU team that beat OSU.  This OSU team is improved.  That defense has another year together under the belt and Boeckman... well, Boeckman is what he is.  I am going to wait to hear reports on Beanie Wells, take them with a grain of salt, and hope that line doesn't move down to 10, or even 9.5, which I think it may.  I hope enough people are in agreement with you all to keep my line from moving down.  Good Luck.

What do think about a 2 team 7 pt. teaser with the 2 following teams:

Kansas  +10 1/2
Fresno State + 8 1/2 

OR even Fresno State at a pick'em or  + 1 1/2 , depending on what
on line sports book you're looking at.

USC -10.5 is my line right now.. I actually thought it would be more.  This one may get ugly.  Wish I could see the Buckeyes win this one to setup a better chance for the Sooners to go to the championship but IMO this one won't be close.

USC -10.5 (not afraid of the hook)

USC has an extra week to prepare for this game and they are at home...Hmmm. I don't see USC losing any game this early, and with all the hype on how great Ohio St. is every year, I think Pete and Co. put that to rest.

I am going out on a limb here, but TAKE the buckeyes. This will be closer than everyone thinks. USC is still a relatively young team. How many of their O and D line went in the first round of the draft last year? While OSU's guys all stuck around to make a serious run. Don't you think Tressel used a bunch of Vanilla plays last week against OHIO? Beanie wells will be fine just like his Mamma said. They'll tape the crap out of his foot and shoot him up with painkillers; he'll run great. People have been telling him all week how USC is going to pound them. USC D is young and fast. OSU D is older and more experienced. Either way good luck everyone and enjoy the game!

Also like the Beavers (I am a homer) at home against Hawaii and the ASU sundevils against Unlv. I live in Vegas and I don't think they'll ever have a good football team. GL all!

Fpronk could have listed his location as 'Mars' and his posts clearly point to his being in Ohio (which makes me feel bad for all my friends there). There is nothing more pathetic than a homer grasping at someone's losses to try to justify their perceived superiority.
 
Anywho, I like USC here. We can talk all we want about OSU's schedule, the softness of the Big Ten in general as of late, the tendency of pollsters to give them higher preseason rankings then they deserve and the quality of this year's squad but what it comes down to on Saturday is USC at home with a far superior team and an offense that is clicking.
 
USC sends a message this game and wins by something north of 17.

Cherumka... i like my picks for this week, if that's what you mean... but my card is more conservative... most of my card is 1/2 unit plays, other than my 4 favorites...

if you want one game i think is a gift roll with Oklahoma...

Cal, USC, CMich are the other ones, in order of preference... pretty sure Cal is gonna blow the doors off of Maryland...

LR... i think of your 5 picks i like Georgia, Auburn and Kansas... i am staying far away from the Fresno St game, but my gut feeling is they will be sky high for this game and Wisconsin will really have no chance of winning... i can't remember who TCU is playing, but haven't looked deep into that game...

Shep, that is an impressive start -- keep it up and you'll have lots of followers this year.   Pay no mind to the bashers.

That said, I'm not on the bandwagon just yet.  With everyone picking a blowout, it just seems too easy.  USC has played one game, vs. a very weak UVA team.  But I am not about to pick the dog either, as we really don't know what to expect out of Wells, other than that he'll suit up.  The extra week to prepare also helps 'SC.

For now I am leaving this one off my card and will just enjoy it for what it is -- a classic top-tier early season matchup.   Good luck to all who bet it.

I have read through all the comments and I see one trend. Everyone is pretty much on USC. It almost appears, should I dare say a "lock". These are the types of games were the player gets raped.
 
Everyone must forget about the Ohio game. Ohio state played Akron in the same spot last year. They sucked and everyone had concerns.
 
Outcome: Ohio St. makes it to the big game
 
We must not forget these factors:
 
1. Tressel never shows anything before a big game
2. Beanie Wells is back
3. USC comes in a bit more confident
4. Ohio St. comes prepared after a scare
5. Sanchez how well is the knee
6. Double Digit dog?

TCU is at home playing Stanford, that got KILLED at ASU last week.
I might do another 3 team 10 pt teaser . Right now i'm looking at MAYBE doing (???) Mich St -7, (Ohio State +20 1/2 OR USC -1/2)  & Fresno +11.
What do you think ?
I was thinking about Kansas +13 1/2, BUT they haven't had a bad game in a LONG LONG time & they're DUE for one. This week could be it. A road game against a REAL GOOD team. If Kansas was playing USF at Kansas, well, thats a different story.

i, like one of the other posters have just watched these threads for a long time, but i applaud your record.  that is awesome.  i give picks to my local country club and have been doing well this year, but not nearly to the clip of 19-4.  i, like one of the other posters, decided to register to make sure you are complimented on a great job. 
 
last week i was 6-1 combined in the nfl and ncaa (lost on a bs fg at the end with the U if u ask me, but oh well)...would much rather bet the amateurs though, seems maybe easier, though i hate to use that word.
 
ncaa games were:
ou, tex tech, psu, uga
 
nfl games were:
dallas, pitt, mia (ouch)
 
always looking for help though, thanks for the info:  this week i like:
 
OU, CAL, USC, Fresno St, TCU and like your pick of Cent. Mich.

USC-
 
27-2 SU versus non conference teams including bowl games and 21-8 ats.
 
22-2 SU  versus highly ranked teams and 18-6 ats.
 
17-5 ats after a week off in regular season
 
It's obvious that USC is loaded on both sides of the ball. The offense on the ground averaged 5.3 yds per carry while Sanchez spread the ball among 9 different players in the passing game for 340 plus yards. USC defense just as good as expected nothing much more to add to that.
 
Ohio St -
 
12-4 ats versus BCS schools in regular season games.
 
6-5 ats as single digit underdogs
 
It's hard to judge this Ohio st team by last weeks game due to a possible look ahead game and the Wells being absent. If the front seven on defense can contain the USC running game then it will leave this game in the hands of the USC qb Sanchez but Sanchez did look good as well.
 
Honestly a tough one to pick much more of a better game to watch than wager on but who am I kidding I'm a degenerate.
 
I know my friend hunted466 won't like what I'm leaning on but I'm sure he won't hold it against me
 
I'm actually leaning on taking USC at the half so hunted your buckeyes can take it in the final.

Wow I hit the back button on accident. Now i have to write this again. It is worth it though.
 
We have yet to see the true Ohio St. defense yet this year. Going into the season, OSU was the highest rated secondary in the nation. But they changed when two players were suspended until the USC game. These two players have been missed for many reasons.
 
Junior Cornerback Donald Washington - plays opposite side of Malcom Jenkins. He has big play potential. One of the best.
 
Senior Safety Jamario O'Neal - Versatile vetran with outstanding speed who can literally play all four defensive back positions.
 
This will help Malcom Jenkins (future NFL star) in the secondary.
 
How is this going unnoticed with the return of two top players for Ohio St?
