Ouch. Kick a man when he's been down time and time again.
I've learned and I'm ready. I have a game plan...ready to fail as soon as someone takes one of the guys I planned on getting and then I alter my gameplan so much and fuck everything up. It's inevitable.

I don't think they'd give up too much for him though.
LOL... yeah right. These were rumors circulated by NYY beat writers during the winter meetings. There is absolutely no truth to these rumors. Twins are shopping around Slowly and not Liriano. The rumors were that NYY offered another grossly overrated prospect of Ivan Nova and Ramiro Pena for Liriano. This makes no sense for the Twins. They have much better issues.
FYI the Twins are looking at moving Mauer out of Catcher and to likely 1B or OF in the next five years or so.
Draft tonight. I am ready! How quickly do people take someone like Bryce Harper? We went in the 1st round (after 6 rounds of keeper picks) in my league last night. We shall see.

Nova is not grossly overrated. You can't be overrated if your not even a top 10 raited prospect in the organization and has a 4.50 ERA in 10 games. I agree with you that a Nova/Pena package is a joke...but you can't be overrated if you're barely rated. He came out of nowhere and pitched well and will probably be a very serviceable 4th starter.

The NY hype machine has been hyping up Nova for two years now like they did with another worthless pitching prospect in Joba Chamberlain IMHO. I am not saying it to bust your balls or to piss you off just my opinion. Sometime when someone is hyped up enough you begin to believe it.

Is Harper Yahoo eligible? I know you cant draft a guy until he is in their system.
Yes he is. It was a Yahoo draft last night as well that you were gracious enough to move this draft to tonight. Thanks again. See you all tonight! It should be a very interesting draft.

2 years ago he was taken in ther Rule 5 draft and went to the Padres and pitched so poorly that they gave him back. No...he's been hyped for this Spring only.
Nova isn't even a top prospect. He's NEVER been raited in the organizational top 10.
I understand it's easy to get hyped up by hearsay...but this isn't hearsay. I've seen him and he's looked pretty damn good.

We all saw him last year too and he looked like garbage. I must admit he has looked a lot better this spring. That is the think about prospects you never know. Here is something else not being talked about... who really thinks Liriano has the right mental make up for NYY? Not me says the man who has seen Francisco pitch dozens and dozens of times.

I really agree with that. He's been questioned about his work ethic in Minnesota...if he got that in NY...he'd have a tough time handling it. However, I'd take him over Greinke and his problem.

ManRam you going to show up to the draft early to answer any last minute questions?
Ya you can open the draft room 30 minutes early. I will be there. If anyone has any serious questions they should have been asked already seeing the league has been up and running for over a month.

I am in the market for a big time consistent SP. I have a couple but could use another one or two. I have closers galore and some good offensive players too. If you are going to try to get some of my top draft picks you are going to have to give up some of your top draft picks too. I like my team and will not be doing a 2, 3 or 4 for 1.

McCann, Sandoval, Gardner, Chris Johnson, Ackley, Crisp, Greinke, Uehara, Cain and Hudson were all on my queue. And just about all of them were guys I would have taken that round if they had fallen to me.
I saw someone pick Kevin Gregg and someone else say "good pick". I assumed that meant everyone thought Gregg would be the closer and I could take the real closer, Uehara, later on. I waited too late.
Good Luck philly...have you seen the basketball league recently?
