What happened to last season and saying "I would never have a guy like Adam Dunn on my team. His average could kill you."
Thats why i drafted Ichiro. I wanted to build my team around Crawford and while doing that i have to get good power no matter what.

Yea. He's a STUD and I'd love to keep him...if he puts up 150+ games of production. But it wasn't my gameplan to draft him in the 3rd round on back to back to back outfielders. But I got Kinsler anyway so I kinda got the better end imo. I got my 3rd rounder for a 4th rounder as well as got a solid 3rd rounder.

Yea...and I love the first 2, but apparently Cruz can't get it done for either.

Sometimes if you draft expecting a player to be injured...you can miss out on an incredible player.
Obviously I'm hoping for the best...but whatever happens happens. Add that I'm giving Hambone a 3 year deal (don't get that in stone yet) also says something. I gotta get the best of the best and hope for...the best.

Yea...I got you. I was going to send over Cruz for Verlander but I didn't want to push the envelope as I don't LOVE him like I do the others. I have no idea if you would have accepted it but it was something that I was rattling in my head.

Plus...you can get him next season with your contract.

Could you give a one-year contract to a player who WILL be rookie eligable next season and still sign him to a 4-year prospect contract?
And do we get another 4-year prospect contract every year...or once we have our prospect we're done?

If he is out for the year i feel no need to keep him. He is 32 and has been on the down slide for the last 3 years. I will throw him back to the draft next year.

You can have one once a year. But remember if you go over 10 players under contract you lose your 1st round pick the following season.

Yea...I understand that. But if I add 2 prospect contracts by the end of 2012...I'll have another contract coming off the book. So there is a lot of leway.
But the main question is...lets say Zach Britton doesn't pitch enough to be rookie eligable this season...could I lock him up for next season to a 1 year deal AND THEN give him the rookie contract next season? I know you can't give back to back 1 year contracts to the same player...but does this count as doing that?

I had so many players left in my queue at the end of the draft.
And I also have 5 rookies on my team this year...2 of which may not even break camp on the team. So my team is kinda thin.
Only 1 catcher, 1 shortstop and 1 third baseman.
