You have no leverage when it comes to trading your rookies. I mean NONE AT ALL. You hold 5 on your team. You are keeping Hosmer. You cant hold o he is a rookie over anyones head because you have no intentions on keeping them making them just another player.
Keep using that strategy and at the end of the year you will have 5 rookies only being able to keep one and all go to waste instead of trading some of them here and there helping your team NOW and not being stubborn and holding them because they are a rookie.

I plan on trading them before the deadline. But there is more stock in a guy who someone can have for 4 more years than a guy someone can have for the rest of this year. Especially since Hellboy has been pitching great this season.
If I don't trade them by the deadline...I'll just hold onto them because they're not hurting my team.

Arod would cost you a pick + Youkilis. Still willing to talk? Arod is good for 3 years and you wont get a 1st rounder better than him in the draft next year.

And my other rookies are only eligible this year. And if they are still on my roster at the end of the season...than it's not like someone can just take them from me and give them a contract. The only way to give a guy like Hellickson, Moustakas, Britton or Espinosa is to trade for him. If not...then they'll go into the draft next year for anyone to take...but JUST for next year.

So what were you expecting for me to say for Arod. Brennan Boesh and Coco Crisp? He is a 3 year player and you did not want to give a good player nor a pick?

Hear me out buddy and try to understand where i am coming from. MY offer is Youkilis and a 1st round pick for Arod.
I can not just trade Arod for a 1st round pick because it would KILL ME this year and i would get nothing from the position.
I can not trade Arod for Youkilis and a 3rd round pick because not only would i be getting the short end of the stick this year by taking Youkilis over Arod but for the following 2 years you are stiffing me with a 3rd round pick from next year.
Each guy gets 4 keepers. 12 teams. 48 players. Add in the good rooks from this year and we will sat the total is at 55. Now lets just say you pick in the middle of the 3rd. Thats 30 more players. The total now stands at 85 players.
When that 3rd round pick comes around there will be around 85 players ALREADY OFF THE BOARD leaving me with a player like Brain McCann, Ben Zobrist, Mark Reynolds, BJ Upton to take Arods place.
It makes no sense at all...

Eh i am looking at potential 1st rounders for next year and its not pretty to replace arod. Unless you have a top top top pick next year 1st round is not even that great.
Granderson, Ellsbury, Asdrubal, Pence, Chris Young, Michael Bourn, Ryan Howard... GROSS

Dont be waiting on PennSt. I dont think he has ever made a trade so you will be rejected. Unless he is offered a bullshit trade like Billinglsy and Pedroia for Beckett.
