Should i retroactively change the matchups to the original schedule that was distributed at our draft, OR accept the wk 4 results and adjust schedule going forward? Team owners are divided.
Thank you for your advice?
Just to provide the ending to the dilemma... Majority of opinions I sought from players outside our League thought it would be worse to retroactively change the results of games already played.
So i did the 2nd option: accepted the games played that week and moved the original week 4 schedule to week 14.
The original 14 week schedule had the 12 teams playing each other 1x. Then the teams you meet in weeks 1,2,3 meet again in week 12-14 to complete the regular season. This solution at least maintained the equation of playing one team 2x during the season, it just change 1 of the 3 teams they were supposed to play twice.
A couple teams lost out that week but no one left the League. Fortunately, having been commish for 29 years earned me enough street cred with the league owners to know that it was an honest (albiet stupid) mistake with no easy solution.
