Been working out like a monster the past 2 months. Can't seem to lose that last bit of belly fat. I've been jump roping, running, swimming, sit ups and crunches, along with some light and medium lifting high reps.
My diet is good, lots of brown rice, fruits, vegtables, and chicken. I guess my downfall is having a few too many drinks on the weekend. Anyone got some good ab advice?

Drinks on the weekend, is probably a big problem. I wouldn't eat fruit after 3 PM either. Cardio will get you there eventually, might need to get the excess water off of you eventually as well.

yeah you HAVE to cut out the alcohol a lot of people dont think its a big deal but alcohol carries A LOT of calories and is the reason why you have excessive weight if you cut the drinks and stay on your regimite you should see that extra fat disappear in no time

Drink water, half of your body weight daily, tightens muscles
Eat 6-7 meals a day, smaller portions than your usual meal, your body will not store fat because it knows it will be eating again in 2-3 hours
Do not eat carbs and sugars (fruit) after 1 pm, you need the rest of the day to work it off.
You do not have to do situps/crunches everyday
sorry to burst your bubbles but you don't have to eat 6-7 meals a day to "keep" the metabolism going. and why cant you eat carbs after 1 pm? As long as you meet your macro's for the day, your good to go. As for the abs, I say its 75% diet but working out helps.

your diet is not good for losing weight
brown rice- carbs you don't need
fruit- carbs (some fruits are better than others)
vegetables- depends on what vegetables (some are better than others)
chicken- good
get your diet right and you'll be fine.

I started a new job 4 or 5 months ago, I sit all day - so I started to eat 10 times healthier than I used to, drink 80-100 oz of water a day, I do cardio a couple times a week, a pretty light amount of lifting but its something. I don't eat any starches. I can't seem to cut my portions too much, but I can deal with that. The biggest problem for me is trying to figure out what else I want to eat, I have pretyt much the same thing every day. Plain oatmeal (biggest dose of carbs in the day) with a greek yogurt... lunch is almost always a chicken breast or two... fruit at some point throughout the day... and at night I usually have some kind of meat with vegetables.... but its the same thing all the time, I need some new foods.

i forgot who started the thread a couple of months ago but we had a good, lengthy discussion about this.
anyway, it sounds like you have a pretty good diet. i would add that you should not be afraid of fat. eating fat will help you lose fat. of course, it needs to be the right kind of fat, but if you are eating a good amount of proteins and fat it shouldn't matter how much you eat because you will get full quickly and won't be hungry much. greek yogurt (low in sugar) is good. i suggest eating some nuts throughout the day, particularly almonds. also, eggs are very healthy and will fill you up, maybe as part of a salad with avocado.
chicken, meat, vegetables, some fruit- that's good.
maybe add some whey protein powder to a smoothie in the morning, some eggs to your diet and nuts when you are hungry and you should be pretty content throughout the day. coconut products are good too.

in my opinion, all this talk about small portions and not eating late at night will get you off track. it's not the quanity of the calories or when you consume them, it's then quality of the calorie and then how much you eat and when will take care of itself.

He was trying to drink half of their body weight in OUNCES a day... didn't assume anyone would think he meant pounds.
I weigh 180, and drink 80 to 100 ounces a day. Feel great.

You give good advice but you have it a little mixed up here.
It's the quality of calories (which you said) andwhen you consume them (which you disagree with).
The when most certainly will not take care of itself, especially in an era of 7-7 working world (with commute) and long stretches throughout the day in which college and high school students do not eat because they are in class/lab. Add the additional everyday responsibilities (i.e. kids, girlfriends, laundry etc.) and you'll find yourself gorging when you have a chance to grab a meal.
Eating small portions every two/three hours is a time-tested dietary schedule that has yielded desired results for millions who attempted to get in shape.
It curbs hunger, puts your body on a schedule, helps avoid binge-eating, and also stimulates your metabolism.
If you go long stretches without this schedule, your body will eventually go into starvation mode and conserve all the fat you are intending to burn (with the intention of eventually consuming it at a much later time which doesn't help in a modern world with plenty to eat at all times for many).

you fail. Calorie is calorie, all it matters is if you meet your macro for the day. Yes, you can eat WHATEVER as long as your under your daily macro for that day. and there has been studies eating 6-7 meals a day doesn't speed up your metabolism

how bad is diet soda? w/o it i think i would be 50lbs more
The problem with diet soda is that it tends to make your body desire sugary substances even more since you are tricking your brain into believing it is receiving that sugar on a regular basis.
This leads to second/third/forth helpings at the dinner/restaurant table to compensate for the calorie deficit and might lead to somewhat uncontrollable urges when you actually do taste foods with a high amount of REAL sugar (Ice cream being a great example).
My advice: drink it twice/three times a week at most. Stick with water/tea.
