if you can really eliminate added sugar, which isn't easy, you should
see a lot of benefits, not just weight loss but energy and just feeling
better overall.
it's really not that hard, either
and you ain't kidding about the added energy and other benefits. once you become a fat eating, fat burning machine, not only do you get the physical gains, but the mental gains as well. Your brain thrives on ketones, and the way to get your brain fed is to restrict carbs and up your fat intake, along with your protein.
studies have shown that the human brain has shrunk with the advent of the western diet (low fat/high carb). You would never know without trying for yourself, but there is definitely a state of clarity one assumes after detoxing from sugar addiction, and allowing the brain to be properly fueled

sorry ad, i really don't look at the labels for carb numbers. at this point, i have a pretty good idea what i should and shouldn't eat. one exception is i will look at the label to see the am ount of sugar if i'm not sure.
most of my carbs, and everything else, come from food without labels so it's hard to say how many carbs i get. i can tell you what i think about certain foods and what i eat on a regular basis, but i don't know a carb count.
however, my diet is far from perfect. my wife does the cooking. she's come around a lot but still hasn't let go of the traditional lowfat thinking. plus, i have young kids and they love sweets and when there's an event like completing 1st grade with good grades, birthdays, or whatever, we'll take them to get ice cream and i'll usually have some too. but on a day to day basis, i do pretty well.

No worries club, but that is good stuff. I guess I am wondering if it is alright to eat like 1 tortilla a day (I love bfast tacos and wraps and stuff...I think 1 has like 15g of Carbs in it. I mean I can go with out but I am seriously trying to lose weight. Wondering if like 1 a day is detrimental

ad, tortillas aren't doing you any good but i don't think one tortilla in the morning is going to make or break your prgram. a breakfast burrito is a great way to get started though. you can do a lot with it- eggs, cheese, tomato, peppers, avodado, etc. when i eat eggs in the morning, it easily fills me up for much of the day. i still eat lunch (usually a good salad), but i could certainly skip it if i wanted to for some reason.
they do have lower carb tortillas and gluten free tortillas, but if that's the main area where you are eating bad carbs, i wouldn't worry about it too much. besides, you can ease into a low carb diet. i think it should really be more of a lifestyle change rather than the traditional connotation of a diet so working your way into it is probably a good idea.

Thanks for the response. Yeah, I didn't think it would be brutal to my diet per se but I just want to do it right. I agree, I am attempting to morph this in to a lifestyle change not necessarily just a short term "diet" I think I will try and just eat a tortilla here and there. Today I ate 3 scrambled eggs with salsa, 2 pieces of canadian bacon and a cup of fruit...Would of been phenomenal in a tortilla lol. But it was satisfying for sure.
You are right, tortillas probably don't do anything good for me but hey, its the little things in life haha.
Asomugha---I am not too sure I fully understand your post?
