I've been betting F1 so far this year...made money on every race. Obviously, that won't continue all year, but I think there's good money to be made. Thought I'd start a thread with picks...please jump in if you're interested.
Today I took the Ferrari team +155 Constructors Championship. This is a 2 team race with the Ferrari's and the Red Bulls. I think they are going to go back and forth all year...what I'm waiting for here is for the Ferrari's to win a couple races and try and find +money on the Red Bulls. Picks are pretty easy for each race. Take Vettel and Alonso both at +money...they are going to win 80% of the races this year.

Like the Ferrari pick. I think Webber has checked out this season and is just going to mail it in. I look for Ferrari to score well in each race since Massa is regaining form.
Vettel should win the drivers championship though. Once Newey gets the tyres figured out, Vettel and his Bull should be quite the force.
I am a Lotus guy and pull for The Iceman, dude has been driver of the year so far. Looking forward to Monaco! GL to you!

Odd race in Monaco today. Crash fest...basically no passing as Rosberg led every lap. Nice hit if you had Rosberg...I didn't see that one coming, but give him credit. He was great on the starts, and never let Vettel get near him.
Post race interviews were interesting. Vettel seemed to be taking jabs at the Mercedes saying they were running a slow pace, and even said something like, "If I had a wider track at the beginning, I would've been able to pass both Mercedes".
Vettel extended his points lead...he's by far the favorite to win the season.

Sorry forgot I posted in this thread, but enjoyed watching Monaco today. There's never a ton of passing in Monaco because the track is so skinny. I am not shocked at all by the Mercs. I have a pool with some buddies, and picked both Mercs for my team. Figure they will qualify well (which they did), my only worry was tyre management and it looks like they got those fixed albeit with some controversy due to the FIA reviewing how legal the tyre testing they did with Pirelli is. I am happy for Rosberg, drove his behind off all weekend and deserved the win.
Felt bad for Grosjean, terrible weekend and it sounds like Boullier might be having enough of him. I think his seat is really in danger next year.

Grand Prix of Canada this week, Eh? (sorry all you canadians out there...couldn't resist)
Rosberg out of nowhere to lead every lap last week. I should've taken a little on him when he got the pole. Hardly any passing at Monaco, but I didn't think they tyre's would hold up.
If I can give anyone advice out there...if you can find a bet out there if a safety car will be deployed...take it and buy me a beer. It's the one race of the year that has a 95% chance of happening. Lots of wrecks, rain, etc. This is the race where the third place car in 2007 had to retire because he hit a groundhog on the track (true story).
I'll be on Hamilton (he's won 3 out of the last 5), and Alonso. Red Bull and Vettel have never won here. Looks like the McClarens are getting to the point of being non-competitive...even at the long odds, I don't see any value if they aren't even running in the top 3. Besides the safety car deploy bet, I like the bet of Hamilton in the top 3 at +130. He has a great history here, and Mercedes looked good last week...maybe they've gotten over their tyre wear.
If you're into futures, even with laying so much, Vettel continues to be a good bet. I've got him at -115 earlier in the year...currently he's at -200 or worse. Still a good investment IMHO.
Found an interesting article about betting first to retire, so for fun I put a touch on Maldonado and Grosjean.
GL F1 bettors out there!

Thanks for jumping in this thread guys...love the F1 talk.
Even though I didn't hit the winner (hindsight being 20/20, how could we have not been on Vettel ), I managed a decent day. Hit on Hamilton over Webber, and at the last second I took Webber -145 over Kimi (I'm going to be fading Kimi a lot). Hit my biggest wager which was Hamilton top 3 +130.
Take out Monaco, and it's pretty obvious Vettel and Alonso are going to be 1-2 damn near every race. I'll probably be on them the rest of the way and not over think it. Hope everyone made

Right-O it's time for Fish and Chips and the Bri-ish Grand Prix!!!!!!!!
There are several drivers from Great Britain that have motivation to do well here, but for this race I'm not going to over think the winners. Putting my money on Vettel +180 and Alonso +270.
Early bets for me are also going to be Vettel top 3 -180, and I'm going to have some faith in the Brit Paul de Rista and take him at +250 for a top 6 finish.
The odds are very tempting to take Mark Webber to win this race since this is his home track, but I don't buy it at all. Reports are out that Red Bull is done with him after this year, and they are enamored with Kimi, and they want him to drive Red Bull next year. Vettel and Webber don't really get along, and they only way Webber wins is if team orders come for Vettel to pull over and let second place Webber win, and that doesn't seem to be in the deck of cards, especially this early in the year.
I'll look forward to the matchups. Let's make some on this race boys!!!
