You can cash these checks at any bank as long as it states US Funds on the actual check. Every check I ever got has been legit. They do require a credit card and license for payouts (First time payouts only to hold on file). Bodog has terrible sports betting lines, but they are the best in the industry as far as paying out and have immediate customer service. Overall they are a good company.
"You can cash these checks at any bank"
Lot of banks in the world, each with their own policy. Amazing you want to speak for all of them. Fact is, you do not speak the truth.
Their checks are payable in U.S. Dollars, so let that be clear.
You can typically only cash checks at the bank they're drawn on, or at a bank where you have an account with sufficient available funds to cover the check amount, which will be held until the check clears.
Perhaps you are referring to depositing the check, and not cashing the check. Typically you can deposit any check into any account. That is elementary, and when you deposit, you normally have to wait for the check to clear for the funds to be available, especially for an international draft.
As far as cashing the check in the United States, at the bank where the check is drawn on, NO DEAL!!! The last 2 payout checks I received were from 2 different banks located in Canada. One was HSBC, and the other is RBC.
Both HSBC & RBC have divisions in the U.S. However, both banks said to me in person, that they refuse to cash these checks since I had no account there. Most banks will let you cash a check drawn on their bank, without you having an account there, as long as you have sufficient ID and they can verify the check. Many will also then charge you a check cashing fee for a non-account holder.
The banks had no issue with my ID. Their issue was, that HSBC of the U.S., has no access to accounts at HSBC of Canada. Thus, there is no way for them to verify the check (such as is the account valid, open, with sufficient available funds, with no hold or stop payment on this check, authenticity of signature, etc.). Same exact thing happened at RBC. RBC in the U.S., cannot verify a check on an account at RBC of Canada. Naturally then, there is no cashing of these checks.
Except, cashing them at your own bank, where you have an account with sufficient available funds. In this case, your cashing the check against your own account, which doesn't really accomplish anything. Thus, all you can do with these checks, is to deposit them. Or, you may find a check cashing place that will do it for a hefty fee.
Sure, you can deposit them. However, be clear, depositing the check and cashing the check are 2 different things.
"they are the best in the industry as far as paying out"
You state this based on what exactly? Instead of talking talk, try walking some walk. Here's my walk to back-up my talk ...
Bookmaker sends me a payout via Western Union free of charge, and I get it the next day. Bodog does not!
Betjamaica does charge a fee, however, they send my payout request as cash via Western Union the same day. Bodog does not!
There's 2 concrete examples for you, proving bodog is not the "best" ok? If you want cash the same day, bodog is not an option. Elsewhere is. If you want Western Union free of charge, bodog is not an option. Elsewhere is. Nothing is faster and better than Western Union same day. Next best is Western Union for free to be available the next day. That's the best. Those are 23 named online sportsbooks that offer what bodog does not. Can you back up your talk with any walk?
Some of the serious breakdowns in bodog's customer service, is them telling folks they can cash their checks anywhere without any fee. They blatantly lie! Perhaps they mean you can deposit them. Of course, they said I could get Western Union for free, and when I asked to do it, they then said there is a fee. They blatantly lie! bodog asked me for a bunch of info (where I went to cash their check, date, time, name of bank manager, address, phone number, etc.) so they could research the issue, which I provided them. Everytime they promised to get back to me with an answer or status update, they never did. They blatantly lie!
When I found winning horse track wagers of mine deviously cancelled by bodog, and called customer service about it, they said I made the wagers after the race went off. They blatantly lie! I had to prove to them that they were wrong, which they were, in order to get the wagers paid correctly. Fact is, when you talk to bodog customer service, they blatantly lie. Why on top of all of bodog's other many inferiorities with their sportsbook, would you also want to endure pathetic, dishonest customer service? I don't know about you, but the fact is the other 19 of 20 Covers recommended sportsbooks put bodog to shame, which unless you like getting ripped off and lied to, boycott bodog totally and completely. bodog is the world's worst!
Anytime you want to debate the facts, and not talk the talk without walking the walk, you know where to find me.
