I know, who reads the fucking articles, but this was a good one. It pretty much said that the NFL is the major reason that online sports betting remains illegal in the U.S. Bastards. Give me a break. What difference does it make to them. Online sports betting still goes one.
The article also talked about soccer betting in Europe ... you can make your wagers at the stadiums before taking your seats. How nice would that be? Come on U.S. Get your head out of your ass and make this right.

I did not know that they did that with soccer over in Europe. That definetly would be the life if we had that set up over here. I will definetly try and check out the article.

When a player gets paralyzed or dies in the NFL there will be a backlash against football. Its already starting with the concussion issue.
With the pussifying of our society there will be a push to abolish football. Its OK we still have hockey, baseball and basketball. Besides in football there aren't as many games to bet.
New Jersey has a great chance of winning their case to legalize sports betting and from there other states will follow.

It still amazes me that when it comes to gambling, the US is at least 30 years behind Britain, Europe and Australia.

''Gambling on sport is as old as sport itself. We have to accept that being able to bet on a game adds a very enjoyable aspect to viewing,'' Gallop said
That's a quote from David Gallop who is the Chief Executive of the National Rugby League in Australia. Now if only the heads of the NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL were as open minded towards gambling.

If you look a England online books actually sponser some soccer teams. The USA is suppose to be the enlightened country but we are nothing but a bunch of prudes. As for the NFL and other pro sports leagues if they could somehow get a cut from the betting they might change their tune about betting on the games.

There may be some truth to that... but I'm skeptical.
I think elected congressmen are reluctant to vote for legal gambling for two reasons:
1) It just does not play well. With the average voter it does not sounds like a good idea, no matter how much you or I would argue to the contrary. Politians tend to be risk adverse when the form an opinion, or vote on legislation.
2) the organized crime (bookies) keep the elected official's pockets lined to keep it illegal. Think about it...

Thats what stoping most states from getting sports betting is the NFL and NBA so they say if you have a team from your state then no sportsbetting . Well Jets/Giants /Nets go back to NYC

Well, if this country continues to go down the shitter, they will be trying to get any tax revenue they can. The value of the dollar continues to fall. It's low hanging fruit as far as taxes go. Do the right thing Obama.
As far as sports leagues, don't they realize that gambling is the reason most people watch the damn games? I am not going to watch San Francisco vs. Seattle, but if I have money on it, I'm tuning in. Get with the program Goodell.

BWin are jersey sponsors of two of the biggest soccer clubs on the planet i.e Real Madrid and AC Milan.
In Australia a rugby league team has given the naming rights of it's home stadium to a sports book i.e Centrebet. Not only that, but at Australian sporting venues they have OTBs at a lot of the stadiums.
Now ask yourself how fucking backwards the US have it when it comes to gambling. By all means, allow any fucking idiot to get a gun, buy drugs and sex online, but don't you dare allow him to gamble on a sporting event.

Wish I wasn't so cynical & jealous about "European Betting Rules". BUT with NEW JERSEY, and maybe CA, FL, etc. now making strides the heavens may open this year to finally see legalized, regulated online gambling in the USA.
CHECK OUT THIS ONLINE WAGERING SURVEY I found about a week ago. Didn't have to give my name out or anything (just an email address) and got a chance to win a big screen HDTV for taking it. Think there's a few days left.
It's pretty interesting...took me about 5 minutes or so & made me think about a few things for the future. Check it out...
As the PBY article points out, no doubt the NFL, also MLB and their powerhouse Washington lobbyists are & will always be there to kill any legislation.
Anyway, somehow we just have do something, anything to make a change. Take a survey, write a congressman. DOSOMETHING & GET INVOLVED.
Just tired of wondering IF I will get paid, when I will get paid etc.

I actually took the survey last time you posted it. Although, I didn't submit it due to having to use my email addy. Some of the questions are just self incriminating. I wouldn't recommend anyone take that survey.

Thanks for the heads up BK and I couldn't agree more. There is no way I am going to take a survey based on the advice of a poster who has 29 posts in 8 months.
I smell fish.

OK guys...knock yourself out. Sit back & wait for your next check to arrive from Off Shore or wait IF IT MIGHT NEVER ARRIVE. I'll spend the time trying to do anything I can to TRY making online wagering LEGAL in the USA. Whether it's answering a survey, writing a congressman, whatever. At least it's an effort. Check out the army of complaints. Don't think anyone overseas has that daily worry.
Or I'll spend my time reading Playboy. That's where we started. Or maybe working.
Not wasting my life posting on a website 4,000 times. That accomplishes nothing & smells really bad.

Very strange questions on the survey. How often do you cash out and do you use a local, shit like that. Questions I wouldn't ask some of my friends. I don't see how answering these questions helps in any way. But, you could win an HDTV if you submit your email addy? Just weird.

Paul, no reason to get defensive, it's nothing personal. Just some members discussing their thoughts on the survey. Would you admit that the questions are self-incriminating? Asking someone to sign off via an email addy to hypothetical tax evasion and illegal improprieties just isn't that great of an idea. Yes, we all hate the inconvenience of the system in place right now, but as of today, I am not convinced legalization is the answer for a number of reasons. One, you are already being taxed by the books.Under a legal system, you would be paying an additional tax upon the books tax.Using some rough math, a 60% investor would be just about breaking even, give or take a few percentage points.Wouldn't that be a great way to kill sports betting in this country or force it back underground? So, be careful what you wish for, Paul.Rather than taking surveys and writing my congressman, I would advocate education with regards to the betting market. Learn how to navigate the current system in place by choosing an A rated book, lower juice over bonuses, etc.. Also, don't insult members who challenge your ideas, it makes you appear to be a simpleton. Syddigs, post count comment is a valid point; If you spend some time around Covers you will understand why he made that comment.
