The last thing people who just lost a bunch of cash want to hear is that it's only money.  That being stated, I fail to understand why people would have their rent and grocery money tied up in an offshore book, especially in light of the recent poker site crackdown.  I was using betonsports.com when they were shut down years ago and moving forward always knew there was a chance my cash could be gone at any moment w/out notice.

LRM - I truly appreciate you sticking up for us, but please don't feel as though you have to.

There's a lot of people on here who are rightfully very pissed off. We are the easiest target because it's not like they can walk into the DOJ's office and start swinging.

We will take the heat. As I have said, we DID recommend these guys and while it was a completely unforeseeable conclusion, this is the kind of situation we have to accept when a recommendation goes bad.

We are working on our gameplan now to try to get the funds released.

I realize no one wants to hear it's only money. The thing is we shouldn't have enough in a gambling account to affect our surgeries, school tuition or food. This shows a real problem if you can't go about everyday life because an account got closed. That being said i do feel for those who lost their recreational account.

Covers Top Recommended Sportsbook is a joke.  It's all based on who pays them the highest $ in advertising. 

Feel pretty bad for those that took Covers #1 Sportsbook advice.

 I had no money with BetEd, but these posters are rightfully upset.  However, your arguments are inane and delusional.  If you really believe your own posts, just work for free and the enjoyment of helping out a business owner. 

Whether someone is betting for "enjoyment" or that is their main source of income, is IRRELEVANT.  For arguments sake, let's say you purchased a $1 lottery ticket since you only bet for "enjoyment." And against infinitesimal odds, you happened to have the winning ticket.  But the lottery states for whatever reason that they are NOT going to pay you one cent of the millions owed you.  I am sure you would have no problem with them f'ing you over, but instead tell them "don't worry, it's only money."

You're working on a gameplan eh? So you're going to take on the federal government now? Give me a goddamn break. I just want to see a guy from covers say "Listen, we made Beted our number one book because they paid us the most money to market for them." Just tell the truth, you have seen time and time again people laughing at the fact that you guys had beted as your number one book. Tell us a few reasons why they were the number one book. Stop digging yourselves a giant hole and just admit that you duped a lot of people into joining a shitty book because you got PAID to do it.

My opinion only here...

1st off, a payment processor was seized (or created by the FEDS) , not any banks…..So Bet ED stating that all their money was seized is complete BS…The only money tied up  would be what was being processed at the time…

Where does you money stay when you are not depositing or withdrawing? Not at the processor. …it gets depositing to a bank account somewhere….either yours, or BetEd’s.

So, in my mind, the only logical conclusion is that the BetEd owners packed up and left, and took your money.  I don’t care their problem with the FEDS, or that they are scared, or they are in trouble, they STOLE YOUR MONEY and are trying to blame it on the US Government.

On Another note…The FEDs have  a 99% conviction rate…so when the FEDS come knocking, you are done.   States not so much…but the Feds are the real deal.

My 2 cents:

I have to agree that Covers is responsible for directing people to BetEd and getting paid for doing it but I don't think anyone can hold them responsible for what happened here.

In the end, it was BetEd's fault for using and/or over depending on a U.S. based processing company.

Here is the part that is most peculiar though:  How does the US government freeze accounts at banks that are located in all those different countries BetEd supposed had clients money in?  How does the US government tell a bank in Costa Rica they are going to seize those accounts unless there is some kind of banking agreement between the countries?

PS.  I had an account at BetEd but the balance was pretty small (less than $100) but it was at $3K last year at one time.

I think esplanade and all of you other complainers are a joke.  I mean seiously, im a small time bettor and I had maney in beted also.  Covers is not the blame, its our own damn fault for making a poor decision on a small time sportsbook.  You all need to get off your fucking soap box and take your losses like men!  I think you're all nothing but a bunch of pathetic whiny ass crybabies. If you dont like covers, get the fuck off the site and go find your sports info somewhere else jackasses!!!

That's cool, I think you're a joke too. I'm sure you'll be able to overcome the $5 in "maney" that you had at Beted. Some people had thousands there and even more. Please show me a post where I said Covers has a responsibility to make us whole. I'll predict <crickets>. It's ironic though that you're the pissant whining about other people voicing their legitimate complaints about the relationship between two significant entities in the industry.
