Seriously? Okay, then where do all the drugs on our streets come from? They're not bought legally, but I can still find whatever I want on the streets. Are you that naive that a criminal won't be able to get their hands on one if needed?
Also, that's exactly what you are using this tragedy as. It's an isolated event simple as that. This is the only time you hear about people wanting to take guns away from citizens is when a tragedy has just occured. Where were you 6 months ago pushing your agenda?A year ago?5 years ago?
It just makes no god damn sense to take away the rights of the majority because of a few nutjobs. This is the very thing that our country was founded on. Now I will make a few concessions there really is no need for the common citizens to have militiary grade equipment, but to take away the rest you might as well piss on the constitution and ask the queen of England to accept us back.

inncocent people die in auto accidents every day.... so are we going to ban cars?
thousands of people died in the twin towers, so are we going to ban tall buildings?
What happened to those children is sickening, but calling for a ban on firearms is not going to stop these nut jobs from carrying out their sick, twisted plans... First off too many guns are readily available, but even if they couldn't get their hands on a gun, they would simply use some other form of a weapon, bomb, knives, swords, axes, hatchets, bow and arrows, baseball bats, etc... so what would we do then? ban all of those things as well...
Instead of looking at how many innocent people have died from firearms, look at how many lives have been saved due to firearms...
I am a firm believer in our 2nd ammendment, and I have a small arsenal of guns myself.... I have never as much as even pointed a gun at someone, but if there is ever a reason, I will be well prepared to protect my family, which is my duty as a husband and dad.
You guys do realize that these type of incidents would even become more frequent, if a firearms ban was put in place.

I see both sides to the argument. I personally have zero interest in guns. I wouldn't care one bit if they were all banned. But sure, I would rather have a gun in my hand if someone broke into my house. (Although, come on people, stop acting like you're all Jason Bourne, most of you would try to protect your families but end up probably blowing your own nuts off instead)
It's a tough subject with lots of moving parts but my question is this: If you're a gun lover, you own 20 guns, you clean them, store them, handle them properly and would never even want to use them on a human being, but you send your child to school one day and then learn that half her head was blown off by some psycho with a gun...how can you love guns after that?

Some criminals having guns is a “false choice”?
You’re asking me how people could get something if it’s illegal? Seriously? I really hope for your sake you’re joking.
Since you didn’t answer the question the first time, I’ll ask you again:
You said the government should ban guns. There are over 300 million guns in America. How exactly do you propose the government goes about implementing and enforcing that ban?
“People die every day by gun fire. Some of us are sick of it and want it to end.”
So in order to make the country safer we should make it so only criminals have guns and law-abiding citizens are defenseless. Brilliant.

It cracks me up when anti-2A people claim that people who own guns think they are Dirty Harry or Jason Bourne. No, it’s just that we would actually like to have a fighting chance if someone with a gun means to do us or our families harm rather than lay in the fetal position while we wait 5+ minutes for the police to show up and save our families because we couldn’t do it ourselves.

So I should love or hate inanimate objects based on what a psycho does with them?
What about if a psycho ran over a little girl with his car? Should I then hate cars?
What about if a dumbass drank too much and caused the death of a little girl? Should I then hate beer?
