5dimes Calls Covers a "rock of a forum"

How are you guys arguing against this ? Is this what the website says or is he just making this up?

I've deposited to 5dimes many times over the years, probably close to 2-3k by my estimate in the last 3 years I bet. Oh, and I have NEVER taken money out of the book. That's right, I'm a small potatoes degenerate gambler who should be the fucking bread and butter of their customer base. Never wins long term (and if I hit a big score, I donate it right back cause I have no money management skills), only deposits. Instead, like wtl, I get told basically "tough shit" if I don't like the decision.

May Miz was supposed to lose when the lines came out and then the script changed...

I mean yeah they let a dog like Edge win just to let people know that a dog or 2 may hit to keep them coming back...

The website absolutely does say that. This is not an "overturned decision" scenario. There was an initial announcement of the result, the match was re-started, and then there was a FINAL announcement of the result. Clearly that above quoted language is not dealing with a scenario such as this. A decision was not overturned after the fact.

This is really a dicey situation.

Lawler won his match, it was overturned, and subsequently Cole ended up winning.

In this disputed match, initially they were both counted out, later that decision was overturned, and The Miz won.

Considering Lawler remained the books' winner for the earlier match, it kind of makes sense that the second match would be considered a draw.

It's definitely a raw deal for you, walktheline, but I can kind of see where Tony is coming from. His only problem is lack of quality customer service, the guy really comes off like a douche.

If the match was restarted, is Tony saying that it was a altogther 2nd match then? With the first match being a draw?

The only difference though Giant was that in the Cole/Lawler match, the person who announced the overturned decision was the "anonymous Raw GM", not the ring announcer. The final and only decision announced by the ring announcer was a Lawler victory.

In Cena/Miz, the double countout was announced first, the match was restarted, and then the Miz was announced by the ring announcer as the winner.
From Tony's interview with Covers about the event:

"The sportsbook grades each bout by what the ring announcer states at the end of the match. Even if your bet is clubbed by a steel chair for the 1-2-3 or disqualified after a fellow wrestler jumped in, whatever comes out of the ring announcer’s mouth is the final say on whether your wager wins or losses."

What came out of the ring announcer's mouth at the end of the match? That would be "Your winner, and still WWE Champion, the miz"

Pretty much. But go to the WWE website, it doesn't list two matches, just one. And the result is Miz def. Cena.

It's funny how the guy talks shit on you for betting wrestling, but they offered up lines for it in the first place...

C'mon Cake.. why doesn't the event matter? When the 2000 Presidential Election was held, did they grade Al Gore the winner just because he was ahead?

Every wagering offer has a definitive outcome, hence a line being able to be settled. This event is no different from an NFL game or a hot dog eating contest, as it was lovingly compared to numerous times.

Touchdown scored at the end of the game, team A wins. 5dimes grades it as a winner. Wait a second... it's reviewed. Team B wins. 5dimes grades team A the winner and tells you to go fuck yourself. Is there any difference?

Also, every other sportsbook that offered this line was able to grade their wagers correctly without any hitch. Why does 5dimes (the site with the largest handle on this event) get to decide the outcome completely based on whatever the fuck Tony feels like determining?

The ring announcer initially announced a double-count out. But that was not the final result of the match, as it was re-started. The final result of the one match is clear and apparent: A Miz victory.

Also, every other sportsbook which offered a line on this graded Miz as a winning ticket. 5Dimes stands alone in terms of canceling wagers on this match.

That was in the middle of the match, only to be shaken of SECONDS later. I understand the shaky terms of betting on a wrestling match but there is very little to dispute on the correct and clear outcome of the proposition.

The fact that he told everyone on this forum to get fucked is the real issue here. It doesn't matter if it's this issue or another, he made it clear that he doesn't respect his customers and you can go fuck yourself if you don't like it.

A nice way to welcome customers that have placed their faith in 5dimes after the Matchbook failure...

Man, we are really splitting hairs here. If Lawler was still viewed as the winner, why shouldn't the double countout still be the same?

Because Giant, they aren't the same. I'm going by the letter of the law as stated by Tony in his own interview with this very website. Whatever is announced by the ring announcer at the end of the match is the result.

Lawler was announced the winner by the ring announcer and then "overturned" by the "Raw General Manger", not the ring announcer. Plus in the Lawler match it was a clear overturned decision (i.e. just a change of the result at the end, no re-starting of the match or anything) while here the match was re-started, some action took place, and a pin occurred. The match was then final and the ring announcer announced the Miz as the winner.

I do feel for you(sort of), but caveat emptor has to be imperative when dealing with dodgy books and events.

I will give you that Tooney is an A-hole and treated this situ badly.

5dimes stated that what comes out of the announcers mouth is what happens. They announced double countout did they not? What if they announced the double c.o. and then the rock came out and said, this match is actually not over, and will be continued in 2 weeks on raw or something. Is 5 dimes supposed to wait for 2weeks with pending tickets for the ring announcer to announce another decision? No. I think they handled this amazingly as per the rules. That customer service is fucking horrible though. I dont understand how you didnt punch tony through your computer
