IMO  the true line should be:

Rock +125
Punk -140

Absolute -- if I had to predict (which is difficult because these lines fluctuate SO MUCH over time), I'd say that it ends with Punk at -170 or so and Rock at +140'ish.

For the Rock to be getting +300 is silly. It is not hard to see how the path to WM goes with Rock winning the title at the Rumble.

My rule for betting on WWE: Get the dogs early and the favorites late.

I wonder if they'll have a Rumble match bet. Take the top guys...give them lines...then have a "field" option. That would definitely be cool.

Yeah...I remember you saying that. I remember last month Barrett opened around -350...Kofi hit at a massive number....unreal. I follow you with this type of stuff....plus money every time.

Well there you go, now at Rock -245 and Punk +175



Gotta move on these early... not going to lie though, Rock -245 is silly, almost as silly as the original line. I'd buy back on Punk up to +100 strong. I could see them finally aligning Punk with the Shield at this PPV perhaps and that will kick start a newer, fresher way for him to continue to hold the title for this record breaking time. I think HHH wants to let Punk run with the title for a long, long time (I believe that Punk will still be champ on  the first Raw in 2014 as he said in his promo), and the newest way to jazz is up is to let the Shield play the Horsemen role where they protect Punk at all costs.

I mean, I see shades of Flair/Horsemen ALL OVER this story. We know HHH loves stables, they will eventually have to have the Shield payoff with them in cohorts with Punk, and what good does that do if Punk is not the champion? It does nothing. But if the Shield joins Punk while he is champ and starts to do anything and everything to protect Punk with the title, then THAT is a story.

If Punk stays champ for all of 2k13, that means Cena doesn't see the belt at Wrestlemania.

It's hard for me to see WWE going an entire year w/o Cena carrying the strap, given it's been a long time since he's been champ, and they're still on course for TWICE IN A LIFETIME at WM in my opinion.

...Not saying anything about the wagering, I just wanted to get in some good wrestling discussion.

CENA SUCKS. Ryback would be champion before Cena. I can see Ryback winning the title on the Smackdown brand after the draft...maybe Summerslam.

I'm with you. It's compared to when Hogan lost to Rock only that wasn't a title thing. Rock will win the title...pass it off to Cena at WM and go from there.


That's a good theory on The Shield but no much can be done with Shield and Punk in the Elimination Chamber match, imo. It may happen down the road but not heading into WM.

There is 0% chance Rock beats Punk clean then loses clean to Cena for the belt at Mania.

I would bet A LOT of money Cena vs Rock for the belt doesn't happen at Mania.
