Crowkillers... did you ever think the reason this post had 1000 views so fast, was the day and time it was posted? You know... a Saturday night in the middle of the NCAAF games and right before the MLB playoff game?
As far as using the term "colored" goes, there is no doubt... none at all, that when it's used, it's used in a derogatory manner.
I still don't get why you have such a hard time with me posting what I did in the GENERAL forum? Am I missing the meaning of GENERAL? Does that not mean... whatever you want to post?
Why do people have a hard time with an all in bet? When we play poker and we think we have a winner... do we not go all in? So why when doing it with a sports wager... do people make comments like... "you need to go to gamblers anonymous" or "you have no discpline, putting all your eggs in one basket". Has anyone ever heard of a RE-LOAD? If I lost the bet... I would have just dug in my pocket and pulled out some more eggs... SIMPLE!
All I did was see what I thought was a chance for easy $$$$$... and the fact that I bet 5 dimes on it... i'm a "liar", "a fool" and other ignorant comments. Like I said before... most on here are $50-$100 bettors so when they hear of a $5000 bet the can't imagine it and act ignorant. I'm not saying it was easy to fire that money... but that's what gambling is all about... taking that shot when you feel you have a good chance... and that's just what I did... and let most of Covers know about it.

I'll agree with you that it shouldn't matter that you bet 5 dimes on the play. What matters the most I think is that you put 100% of your BR on the play. If a $50-$100 bettor laid their entire BR, lets say $2000, on the play, I would still call it rather stupid and idiotic, and here's why:
If you're gambling, you set a limit as to how much you are willing to lose. This usually becomes your Bank Roll. In your case, it looks like you were willing to lose about $5000 (assuming this is what you started with, unless you started higher and lost a lot, or vice versa). Let's assume your "limit" was $5000. You are willing to lose $5000, but no more. If that's the case, do you really find it smart to risk ALL of that money on a single play? Regardless of how smart you think the play was, you just risked all of your gambling money on it. If you had lost, all your accounts would have gone down to zero.
What do you do then? Re-load another $5000? According to your last post, yes, that's what you would have done. But I don't believe you there. I think you would have come in with another $2000 or so, and tried to slowly build it back up.
The risk far outweighed the reward, and no matter what gambling strategy you follow, that is a cardinal rule not to be broken.
I mean hell, congrats, you won a shitload of dough. Enjoy it. But it still wasn't the correct play, regardless of the outcome. Over the long run, the lack of discipline will almost surely lose you a ton of money.

NO threads in the General or ANY other forum get a legitimate 1,000 views in 20 minutes regardless of the time of day. This one had 1,000 views in 20 minutes and then literally went stale right after it hit 1,000. Someone refreshed the shit out of the thread.
Do you really think 1,000 different people clicked on it in 20 minutes?
Anyone looking for a MLB play was in the Baseball forum.

crow, you're a good guy, but I think you also need to stop saying the word colored. it's not that it is offending, but it is just outdated and doesn't sound right in this day and age. and trotter, I was at work on saturday night and seen this thread as well and it did have 1,200 views minutes after you posted it and it was in the wrong forum which looked to me like someone was looking for attention. there are threads in the general forum that have been here for a week that don't have that many views. and the only reason why someone would have 8 sportsbook accounts would be if they kept busting out of one and kept opening a new account to get the sign up bonus, so I doubt you had money in 8 accounts as you say.
Its fucking outdated by some 25 years and obviously offensive to a large percentage of people. Get a fucking clue

Crow, 'colored' is outdated, and to be honest young people actually do just say black because why should we call them something else, I'm a white person, I'm not offended to be called white --- but I understand completely what you are saying and 'african american' is that PC term.
Colored is used in NAACP because at the time it was the 'nice' term because at the time there was still that background racism that set them apart - like they were citizens but not quite accepted in everything. The term was grandfathered into that title.
Older black people would not be offended with colored, and when talking to other older white people you might use colored because the also see it as the proper term today.
You're a great guy... but it is dated.
No reason for this clown Jelax to get his panties in a bunch about it though and try to call you a racist for it.

He's not a racist, but he's either completely clueless or trying to push someones button's with use of that term. And i'm pretty sure it's not option A.

I agree I have never seen Crow say anything that I deemed racist either as long as I have been here, but in fairness to Jelax he did tell Crow how the word "colored" is offensive and why. I don't think he really got too bent out of shape. Just educating the masses. Not many times in todays society that you can have an honest conversation about racial issues. People should do it more often.

I really thought you were much more bright than this comment. I'm sure 90% of the people did not click on the post... " looking for a baseball play". I'm also sure lots clicked on it many times to see what others were saying and as the total hits got higher... more clicked to see what was up.
If what your saying is Saturday night around 5pm is not one of the busiest times for forum posts... then tell me when is? Sunday morning around 9am? The more and more you talk...the more and more I think you have no clue. where now approaching 3000 hits in less than 48 hours, what gives?
Bottom line, you just can't stand to see people make a big wager... then hit it. You can't stand when people make a post in a forum you feel is not in the correct forum... and you can't stand when that forum gets 1000's of hits. YOU JUST A HATER... SIMPLE. It's really not hard to see. Hate on... hate on!

WOW... do you only read part of the posts and then ASSume parts of them? I said MOST of the 5k I bet was from a pick four I hit betting the horses. Also, I still don't get why it's not ok to empty out your account with an all in bet. Who cares how much it's for, and when did I say that was my whole bankroll? It's what was in my accounts... and that does not mean I couldn't and wouldn't have dig into my hip for more if I lost. I don't even know why I'm trying to explain myself to you... enough said.

Trooter, ignore tha jack-wagons. They're too busy flaming people on the forums instead of researching their picks. Misery loves company, right? You know how it is...
Congrats on your all-or-nothing!

Troter, I apologize for my rude comments they were completely out of line. It's just that when I seen 1,000 views pop up that quickly it looked suspicious and I really didn't know who you were. I am glad that you won your wager.
I also apologize to everyone else for my actions here. I will also stop using the word colored. I had no idea that it offended so many people. I don't want to make any enemies here.
Sorry Guys

I'll say this... I have never had a problem with you and always thought you were a good guy with alot of knowledgs and wit, that's why I was surprised by some of your comments.
Having said that... all is forgotten and no harm done.

Thanks for the comment. Also... "Jackwagon" one of my new favorite sayings. I never heard that term until I saw that commercial with the guy calling him a Jackwagon and a cry baby and throwing the tissue box at him... funny stuff!
Good luck with your picks buddy.

I NEVER said he was a racist and felt as though I was pretty balanced about the ordeal but if the way i handled this discussion makes me a clown then hey thats your opinion. The premise behind my whole response was it's offensive and that MAYBE crow liked the attention not that he was in ANY way racist. I enjoy crow's posts and disagreed with one term he used. Not sure why people always try to blow things out of proportion.

Older black people would not be offended with colored, and when talking to other older white people you might use colored because the also see it as the proper term today.
You're a great guy... but it is dated.
No reason for this clown Jelax to get his panties in a bunch about it though and try to call you a racist for it.
