Calling the campus police was not even remotely enough. Paterno should have been vigilant and followed up on this matter by making sure that Sandusky was never allowed to harm another kid.
But Joe Pa was ALL about saving his job, as evidenced by him disgracefully leading the naive Penn State sheep in a rally for his job in his waning days.
All the charity given by Joe Pa makes ZERO difference now that he allowed continued rapes to take place by Sandusky after being aware of his evil nature.
Joe Pa would have been rightfully remembered as a legend had he made the right decisions at such a critical time. But in the end, the evil that Sandusky did and continued to do was not important to him.
Joe was only concerned about keeping his job, and the charity was a great way to keep his phony aura going. Thus, both men are evil, and there is little difference between the two.
