Slim, I have found that twisting words, distorting truths, and constantly repeating complete fabrications is the norm for certain people.

I would think that if a person had a sound argument, sticking to the facts would work to their benefit ... IF they had a sound argument

Kaepernick is not protesting the flag. His protest is about a country that is unwilling to take actions against the fact they are oppressing black americans

    ilsp2003,

If he's not protesting the Flag/Anthem, then he's violating the Flag Code, by advertising his grievances ,,by sitting during the National Anthem while the Flag is present ....

The flag should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner whatsoever. By his actions he's disrespecting and misusing the Flag and the Anthem to advertise his own personal grievances..if nothing else Kaepernick is not showing proper respect for this Nations Flag /Anthem..why should anyone respect his reasons for doing so..?

So true Hugh ,,like if Kaepernick had a sound argument,, he should stick to the facts of his argument not go off flying in all directions ..

During a Sunday news conference about the flag flap, Kaepernick dressed in a black hat with a large, white “X” and a T-shirt that featured photos of Cuban despot Fidel Castro and Malcolm X.”

... What idiot would wear a Fidel Castro T-shirt to an "anti-oppression" press conference...too funny...

“The slave flight hireling and grave” bit - is in reference to the slaves who defected - who escaped to fight for the British in order to gain freedom.

Francis Scott Key, an accomplished, well-respected attorney, participated in a number of cases involving slaves, one of which involved African slaves whose American ship had been shipwrecked and another vessel brought them to Savannah, Georgia. Key had argued for their freedom. Key was devoutly religious and prided himself as a humanitarian, which often led to great moral and personal contradiction. His religious convictions led him to campaign against the slave trade. Key throughout his career represented several slaves seeking their freedom in court.

Key fought to free over 400 slaves and fought for land for the slaves for over a decade. Key was nicknamed the 'The Ni**er Lawyer' because he publicly criticized slavery's cruelties and often volunteered to defend the downtrodden sons and daughters of Africa.

Let’s talk slavery. Blacks like to use the narrative that free blacks were taken by force from Africa. The truth is Black African slave owners sold African Blacks to America. Also Black African slave owners sold over 90 percent of all slaves to Europeans. And Without Black African slave owners there would have been no slavery in America or the New World.

Another interesting piece of history that is never mentioned by Black America is American Blacks owned tens of thousands slaves.  Why no anger directed at Black American slave owners.

White slavery pre-dates black slavery in America. Whites were snatched from their homes and taken in chains to the great slave markets. At least 70,000 white men, women, and children from England and Ireland were shipped to the colonies to be sold as slaves on the auction block during the 170 years of British rule. Throughout the colonial period, white slaves remained the main labor force on the Virginia and Maryland plantations, outnumbering Africans by as many as four to one.

White Scottish and Welsh were also slaves. In ancient Greece, whites were slaves. In Ancient Rome, millions of whites were slaves. The Muslim world owned white slaves. White slaves were worked to death and women and children were made into prostitutes in the Muslim world. Until the fall of Muslim Spain, whites made up the majority of slaves in Spain.

America is the only country on earth where tens of thousands of whites died for blacks. No other country on earth has spilled more blood for blacks or spent more money on blacks than the United States. The United States has spent trillions on trying to implement blacks into the American fabric of society.

Arabs held blacks as slaves for over 1400 years and whites for 300 years. Today black descendants of African slaves have the highest standard of living of any blacks living anywhere in the world. Africa today is a horrible place to live. Black Americans should be thankful to American whites for bringing blacks to this great land.

You hear no complaints from whites for having their ancestors as slaves. None. No whatsoever.

Black Americans should direct their anger towards Africa, Black African slave owners, and the Arab slave owners for black slavery since white America is responsible for blacks having reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity the black race has ever known. Kaepernick should be taking a knee to protest Africa, Black African slave owners, black slave owners who owned black slaves, and Muslim and Arab slave owners for black slavery with one hand over his heart to salute the flag that brought blacks the the highest standard of living of any blacks living anywhere in the world.

No Kaepernick is not disrespecting the US flag.

Confederate Flag apologists and those who fly the Confederate Flag are the ones disrespecting The United States Flag.

on 11-June-1990, the US Supreme Court declared that laws against desecrating the US flag are UNCONSTITUTIONAL.
Almost immediately after the ruling was made, President George Herbert Walker Bush proposed a solution: a constitutional amendment that would exempt flag-desecration as protected speech. But the legislative branch struck first and passed the Flag Protection Act of 1989, which made it criminal to desecrate the flag, regardless of motive. Protesters responded quickly by burning flags, in an attempt to get the issue back to the Supreme Court. Almost exactly a year after Texas v. Johnson, their wish came true. In United States v. Eichman, which was decided exactly 25 years ago, on June 11, 1990, the Supreme Court once again ruled that burning the flag was an example of constitutionally protected free speech.

    ilsp2003,

Kaepernick is protesting what he believes is America’s “unjust and oppressive treatment of black people and people of color.”

But, these black criminals wouldn't be losing their life to the police if they follow the laws...and follow police instructions .  Don't run away ,don't mouth off and certainly don't resist arrest.

Blacks really should fear being victimized by other brothers, than by a white police officers..white police officers killing unarmed black men.. represent less than 4 % of fatal police shootings.

The greatest oppressor of blacks in America according to  Phil Mushnick of the NYPost is the black neighborhood "residents are conditioned to be uncooperative with cops and detectives — “Snitches get stitches” — in pursuit of the murderer or murderers lest they and their families suffer retaliatory harm, including murder."

In the black community gangs are a substitute for absentee parents and family ..esp. fathers...speaking of fathers Kaepernick's is like President Obama was born to a white mother and a black father abandoned by them when they were very young or unborn..  and like Obama who chose to protest the American wars by not wearing an American flag pin when he was a candidate for the Presidency (wore one all the time after being elected even though America was still at war.) Obama also chose ,to not put his hand over his heart during the singing of the Star-Spangled Banner when other Democrat candidates in 2008, instead grabbed his .........ah,, wrist below his waist.

The real problem here seems to be that Kaepernick like Obama are angry for having been deserted by their biological fathers..their abandoment has caused severe psychological damage..Obama and Kaepernick both have a deep seated dislike for the "Man" ( the police) and their biological fathers.... who,, like the "Man" are a person they cannot trust because they grew up feeling as though their real father didn’t want them..

In reality Kaepernick is protesting not the Anthem, but the effects of being an abandoned son..

You're wrong again while trying to change the narrative.

where and when did Kaepernick say he was OK to break the law ?

Walter Scott was shot in back . Driving with a broken taillight is not punishable by death. on yeah he was running from the cop not threatening the cop

A white woman leads police on a high-speed chase, resists arrest, steals a police car and then grabs for a police officer's rifle.

The white woman  was not killed
Sandra Bland was arrested for no reason (She was smoking in her car), then she died while in custody ....

That's the type of double standard and police injustice/brutality Kaepernick is talking about.

Just that, right there, goes for every race, color, creed, etc.......

Nothing more needs to be said. I've even submitted my under 21 and ultra white boy "episode" with the L.A.P.D. in another thread (and I have other unjust "interactions" that I could post), but what I've been screaming to the race-baiting poster which will not be named, cops are like a pitbull on a short and thin leash just looking for you to make a move - regardless of color.....

Just cooperate, and if you've got nothing to hide, then you'll be just fine.....

Nice googling ilsp2003,but I'll restate because cherry picking distorts the facts ..

White police officers killing unarmed black men.. represent less than 4 % of fatal police shootings.

you're still trying to spin it

does that "less than 4%" include the shootings that were NOT investigated  because they were "justified" ?

4 % of fatal police shootings = how many unarmed dead black men

According to the Washington Post database on Police shooting,

of the 990 fatal police shootings last year, Slager is one of only 10 officers to be charged with a crime.

Slager was caught on video shooting Walter Scott in the back, planting evidence, then he lied in his report but was still granted $500,000 bail.

NYPD officer Liang, who shot and killed unarmed  28-yer old Akai Gurley , was sentenced to community service and probation.

An analysis of public records, local news reports and Guardian reporting found that 32% of black people killed by police in 2015 were unarmed, as were 25% of Hispanic and Latino people, compared with 15% of white people killed.

Black people make up 13% of US population

Tim Scott (R-South Carolina) delivered a powerful and deeply personal speech from the Senate floor on Wednesday in which he detailed how, even inside the Capitol building, the relationship between law enforcement and the black community can be strained.

The South Carolina senator spoke of multiple instances in which he felt he had been unfairly targeted by police because of the color of his skin, including one encounter with the U.S. Capitol Police. Scott, who is black, said that as recently as last year he was stopped by a Capitol Police officer who did not recognize him as a senator even though he was wearing his member’s pin.

“The pin, I know. You, I don’t,” Scott recalled the officer saying with “a little attitude.” Scott said the tone of the encounter suggested that the officer believed he was impersonating a senator.

It's from the biographical book 'What So Proudly We Hailed: Francis Scott Key, A Life' - written by historian Marc Leepson. Do you know how to read?

Walter Scott is the only real case you have.  Michael T. Slager was justifiably charged with murder. No need to block traffic, rob, steal, riot or set businesses on fire.

Jessica Sterling wasn't shot for 2 reasons.
    1. She crashed the police vehicle before the cops could shoot her.
    2. The rifle was in a gun rack. She would’ve needed to know how to use the activation switch or have the key to unlock it. Plus guns in racks have trigger guards.

    Sandra Bland broke 3 laws.
    1. DISREGARD POLICE OFFICER ORDERS
    2. DISORDERLY CONDUCT
    3. RESISTING ARREST
And she hung herself. End of story.

Philando Castille - was a CRIPS gang banging thug - with a rap sheet so damn long that I couldn't even fit it in one post - who fit the description of an armed robbery suspect. Castille was justifiably shot by a Hispanic cop.

Roxanne Rimer - stole a cop car and then ditched it and got a ride. Police later captured her. She wasn't shot because officers never had the chance.

Akai Gurley – the officer was startled, his gun accidentally discharged as he opened the door and the bullet ricocheted off the wall and struck Gurley once in the chest, and he died within minutes. Gurley was shot Chinese officer Peter Liang

Charles Kinsey was wrongfully shot by an idiot Hispanic cop. He should definitely be charged and fired.

Let’s review… You have 1 white cop and 2 Hispanic cops and a Chinese cop. I thought the narrative was ‘white cops’ were hunting and killing innocent blacks?

Despite making up just 13% of the population, blacks commit around half of homicides in the United States. Blacks commit more murders despite the fact that there are five times more white people in the U.S. - Even though blacks commit more crimes than whites, whites are twice as likely to be killed by killed by police officers. It’s clear that the greater propensity for black people to commit violent crimes is a driving factor as to why blacks are becoming involved in more violent confrontations with police than their 13% population figure suggests they should be.

Kaepernick kneeling over the police killings of “innocent black men” is bogus. He might as well be kneeling over Willy Wonka’s treatment of Umpa Lumpa’s. Both protests would be inspired by fiction.

Let’s go case by case if you wish. I’m more than happy to educate you.

MoneySRH, while I appreciate the effort you put into disputing the false narrative that is strewn about this place, I will point out that your time is being put into a useless cause.

People on this site seem incapable of discussing/debating anything without going into full spin mode, constantly taking statements out of context, twisting words, and distorting truths.

For example, if you pointed out that a certain color was orange, the response would be "if red didn't rape yellow then orange would not even be"
To which you would reply "I was merely pointing out that the color of that object is orange"
Which would be met by ... "ORANGE?!?!?!? I knew it, you are a Trump supporter! Trump's face is orange!!!. You are uneducated about colors. Plus you are a racist and a bigot"
Your obvious response would be to say "but I was stating the obvious, that the color is orange, I meant nothing more"
Then the other side of this argument would end it by saying "you watch FOXNews, they hate all things orange ... except Trump"

Good luck with the ongoing dialogue

LOL! I know there is nothing I could say to change them. I just enjoy silencing liberals on this site. The two most prominent liberals on this site are scalabrine and DL36. Both of them love to bully posters that lean to the right. I decided to challenge them both. Now both run away scared of me. Ilsp2003 is another loud mouth liberal. He will run away with his tail between his legs defeated as well. I find amusement in all this.
