Best pizza in Chicago?

Headed there in July. Just wanted to get the Chicago guys thoughts as well as those that have visited.

yep Lou Malnatis.....doesn't even compare to new york pizza imo tho

Gino's East for the Pizza and also the experience followed closely by Giordanos.  Enjoy.

If you're looking for deep dish, then Lou Malnati's for sure.  Absolutely do not go to Gino's East; their crust is this corn bread type crust which completely ruins it.  Giordano's is pretty good too.  If you're looking for thin crust, a place in Wicker Park called Piece serves thin crust that is amazing.  It's not the typical Chicago style thin crust though that is cracker like.  If you want that, I would head to Marie's or Vito & Nick's.  I absolutely love Chicago and know what I'm talking about, so don't listen to anyone else on here unless they're in agreement with me, which I'm sure many locals will vouch for my suggestions.  Have fun... that city is the best!

Gino's East used to be really good, but I would say in the past 15 or 20 years it has gone down hill. Just not into anymore.

Piece is my favorite because it is just like back home in Connecticut.  The only thing I miss about home is the pizza.  Otherwise I would say Malnati's is great and  so is Giordano's deep dish.

I haven't been in 2 years, but last time I went I thought was still really good. I forgot about Lou Malnati's, but still like Giordano's better.

Havent been back to chi in awhile but i used to go to Pizzanos or Pizza due. not sure if they are there still.  Pizza Due had great deep dish, it was across from pizza uno downtown. can anyone verify if it is still there?

Not a problem with Malnatis. Like the crust.

Personal preference is Bacinos for deep dish and Roco Ranallis for thin. Get both "well done", so they don't pull it out of the oven too soon.
For a unique sauce, maybe D'Agostinos

Check Metromix for festivals that weekend.

Man all this talk has me craving a chi town deep dish.  Its slim pickens as far as pizza goes out here in the desert!  Time to check travelocity for deals!!

just how much better is the Pizza in these places??? ---- lets say someone has lived in Arizona thier whole life

I lived in new york for most of my life and spent the last few years in Chicago. I just moved to Phoenix and the pizza here is so much worse its funny. The only place with semi decent slices is nypd pizza and thats bc they ship in ingredients/water from new york.

water is SO underrated

what makes a Philly cheesesteak is the bread/ roll, which comes from water used to make the bread locally

the same can probably be said for NY pizza to a degree

So true, I have had the cheesesteaks in Philly and you can not get anything like that anywhere else. Other places will make what they call a Philly Cheesesteak, but it doesn't come close to the real deal. Same thing with Pizza. Its either NY or Chicago.

deep dish or thin crust the pizza in the Chi is BOMB.

i remember eating frozen "JEWEL PIZZA" what the locals in the chi ate. 

they discontinued it tho =[

Geno's East for sure. Make sure you go to Twin Anchors for ribs. Sinatra used to hang there when he was in town...

I think this dude beat Bobby Flay on that "Throwdown" show. 

I can't even remember the place I went when I was there (it was after a playoff game...Maddux v. Prior ), but it was a dump down the road a ways from Wrigley and it was the best pizza I have had in my life.
