Covid vaccination question...thanks for your reply

The VA sent me an "arm twisting letter" encouraging me to get vaccinated. Which companies vaccination did you get and if you had side effects what were they? any information provided will give me food for thought, thanks. The VA is using the one shot from Johnson & Johnson. 

PS...please stick to the topic, if you are anti vaccine you have my respect for using your own choice...I just don't want this turning into a thread full of arguments. THANK YOU

I got the one shot Johnson & Johnson on 6/12/21. 

My wife and son got the same on 8/13/21.

No side effects.

A little thirsty after, but nothing more than a few hours of that feeling. Drank about a gallon of very sweet lemonade and it helped.

Moderna for the mrs. , our oldest , our parents and myself ...Zero side effects for everyone but my mother in law who took a 2 hour nap after her 2nd shot , woke up feeling refreshed ...

So far I've known 4 people who died from Covid and another one who needs a kidney transplant after beating Covid. 

Pfizer, very slight feeling sick after the second one for about a day, but not a big deal.  You should get Moderna if you have a choice, it is doing the best now vs Delta.

 Pfizer.......got my 2nd dose in late April. Didn't really have a choice at the time as it was the only option in my area. Felt a little warm that night but nothing that made me uncomfortable.

moderna twice 1 in april and 1 in may. about 10 sec after the 1st one i had a dizzy spell and felt like i lost control of my body. it lasted about 5 minutes. then had pain in my arn that lasted about a week. the 2nd shot wasn't as bad.

My arm hurt at injection site, but only if I pushed at it.... Completely benign

Feel like I had mild heat strike for a few hours in the middle of the night (2ND vaccine shot)... No big deal but I think it was the vaccine. Never had that before

My 85 year-old parents were both Pfizer x 2....ZERO SIDE EFFECTS.

Got mine thru the VA as well, Pfizer, 1st in March, 2nd 3 weeks later. Zero side effects. My girlfriend, we live together, received hers, Moderna, about the same time, no side effects for her either. I have an underlying health issue too that was not affected either. Still wear a mask around people.

It's microbiology. You either got a placebo or it will affect you the next time you get sick.

Having no immediate side effects is meaningless.

Had first Moderna in March and second in April.Got in early cause of my COPD...no side effects except sore arm just like my first flu shot ever in October.

I think it's obvious to anyone with an intelligence quotient over 80 that the original poster is asking about side effects SO FAR

Got the J&J shot and then was sluggish for about 2 days. 

All vaccines are NOT safe and effective. Depends on YOU and your body.

I know an Emergency Room Doc who had COVID, his wife and family had it, and none of them are getting vaccinated. He is not required to. That's their choice. My sister, brother in law, their son, my 70+ yr old sister in law, my daughter, her husband, myself, have all had COVID. As with the Emerg. rm doc, it was just a flu for all of us. The 70+ sister in law only one to get vaxed. She reported no problems.

DOESN'T mean that it won't kill. It does, we know it does. Media puts out heartfelt stories everyday. 

My first choice was Moderna, but I see articles the the J&J is really good against Delta. And that they used more stringent studies on the J&J last yr that made it look less effective. The fact that it is ONE SHOT very appealing to me.

So J&J will be my choice if my immunities are fading.
