I will never understand how people actively root for others to lose money, and then take joy from hearing about it.

This is a byproduct of the internet.  There is no way - even to someone you didnt like - that this would ever happen in person.

Call me a hippie or whatever you want, but it just isn't my cup of tea.

I agree but this isnt really about the investment. This is about two members who have crossed each other in the past and have a history which is carrying over into this subject.

With that in mind if the two in question are unable to keep the fighting out of the mains, well it will likely lead to a suspension.

Wall, you have to admit that “Tether has been flat at $1 for at least a month now” is a pretty good one.

Crypto currency lost another 10 percent across the board. Google has banned advertising for the media currency. Not sure how long the black market will continue to use this form of payment.

Sorry but those are likely fake...the same way the fake machines paper bid stocks on up or flat days, its a way to push prices higher even though they are not wanting to get hit on the bid. 

A better idea of bid/ask are on down days...the bid thins out and the true buyers are there, not when the market is dead like today..

Getting back to tether, it's a parking lot for money that is FLAT.  For Kriest Sakes I park my money in a bank CD and get 2.5% so at least that's SOMETHING.  I suppose tether is just a vehicle for moving one Crypto to another and short term, it probably works.  But what happens when it gets hacked like last year and your one dollar turns into 80 cents?  Don't say it'll never happen again because it CAN.

Finally, if you think worldwide governments are going to stand by idle and watch this Crypto Movie continue, well, that's NOT going to happen either.  It's just a matter of time.  And again, it's not my hope that investors get decimated in the meantime.

All very good points, and all part of the risk profile.  This is definitely a high risk high reward (or loss) arena.

Litecoin is up 13% today (and climbing, maybe?). While 13% is a huge day in the stock market, it's just another day in Crypto. The swings in both directions are something that Crytpo investors must get used to. We have become so accustomed to the way stocks trade that it doesn't feel right when the market moves 20% on little to no news.

But that is how this market operates... at least for now. I do think at some point it will settle down with regulation. But for the foreseeable future, get used to it or get out of it.

On what fundamentals ? I know others here have chastised cryptos, but .... they are right, and this  is getting ridiculous.  Let's not forget this is a currency people.  It's not an investment, it's a trade !!!  



Many of you guys here have no idea what you are doing, and dont's understand what the difference is between an investment and a trade.  Currencies are volatile and are not to be viewed as long term investments folks.

This thread shall live on for a number of reasons.....

Rush51, we’ve already been through this. BTC has transitioned into a store of of value as well as a digital currency. It is an investment! 
Ethereum is a utility and it allows “smart contracts”. Investing in it now is like investing in a young tech company. It is an investment! Both currencies carry significant value at this point. 

Since you probably have no idea what I’m talking about - Smart contracts allow programmers to bind two parties (dealing with financial transactions, such as bitcoin) without an intermediary needed. It cuts out the middleman. 

Digital currencies decentralize the financial system and take leverage/power away from the banks. That’s why they do not like it... because they know it is the beginning of the end for them. Crypto investors are betting against the banks and on technological advances in the system. 

I admit that many digital currencies will likely fail. But those that do not will become the future of the financial system. Some of us see this better than others...  and we’re putting our money where our mouths are.

I personally feel that BTC and ETH are the nucleous of the market and will lead the way. That’s where my money is. If you think it’s ridiculous, then short the market. There are ways to do that.

Crypto was like that last year if you follow the trend.

i see bitcoin going over 20k by the end of 2018 Blockchain is here to stay.

and for those who "HODL" will be rewarded.

Irrational Exuberence fits nicely with the Internet and the isolation/disregard for Facts that it encourages. 
Another 'Trend'- first 3 months of 2018 greatest drop in Bitcoin history.Bitcoin is breaking 'new ground' everyday.

On 4/9/17 BTC was $1175 and ETH was $44. Today, BTC is $6600 and ETH is $370. 

Not bad for just experiencing the “biggest bubble drop in history”.

Crypto is short for cryptography. Cryptography is computer technology that’s used for securing and hiding information. Add currency to cryptography and you have crypto currency. 

I believe what people misunderstand is that crypto investors aren’t simply investing in a currency blindly hoping it appreciates. 

We’re investing in the technology behind the currency. If the technology behind the currency solves real world problems, the currency will then appreciate. That’s what we’re betting on.
