Quit it, Kuddish. I have been betting on sports since 1986, i know how hard to win betting on sports. Buddies of mine who bet on sports, all lost money. None of them came out ahead with a profit, and one of them just busted his home equity entirely two years ago. 

I bet only very small in major sports, except in NFL playoffs where i had some successes. But that's me, my advise to you is to give up.

Or to find out why it is that you are prone to addiction in the first place. Once i gave up eating sugar and simple carbohydrates, my insatiable thirst for all bad addictive things dissipated quickly. And they say smoking dope is the gateway drug LOL,,,,it's the sugar. I'd wager most humans suffer the same,,,,once one is hooked on sugars, all the other bad addictive traits follow. And people shovel sugar by the bucket into the mouths of children,,,,driving around with a DARE license plate LOL

Do all the things with the money you need to do, Pay Bills, rent, car insurance, car payments, clothing, food, a night out a couple of times a month.

and save what you have left over for the season on the sport of your choice and play small, enjoy yourself, You win great, You lose oh well, start all over again.

I know this wasn't an answer to the question but as adults, we all need to show a semblance of control and restraint.

Ive highlighted the exact reason why bettors get in trouble,,,,,,,,,,they bet too much per game, they wager out of their means.

Im going to be starting a thread soon about this very matter...........hopefully it will help a few people !!!!

You do realize you are telling people that have no control to have some control.  

If it was that easy then this thread wouldn't exist.

Hey fellas. been doing better. i would be lying if i said i havent gambled but have only done a few. Im trying to plan out quit still. i have been avoiding things and concentratng on workjing out and learning to cook. Not to good et, but i have to stasrt somewhere. i appreciuate the support guys and if you want to reach out pm me.

Cold turkey as I'm sure others have said is really the way to go.  Also, you need to really stop looking at lines.  Looking at lines will only tease you. You need to replace the time you spent researching info on games and/or watching the games itself with something else. 

Once you're able to do this your a step closer to your ideal goal.  Ultimately, it's your call and really up to you.  Hopefully you have a close person or 2 that you can bounce ideas off of, etc.  BOL to you.  Maybe a group would help fill some time as well as put you around some people in your similar situation. Not to judge but if you thought about ending your life..... that's enough in itself for you to go seek help.

Try unprotected sex with girls you barely know. It's a diff form of gambling and doesn't cost you anything really.

Next to food gambling is the second hardest addiction to overcome.   Yes drugs, alcohol, and smoking are easier than gambling.

You will need to find a hobby that is very time consuming and will not bore you.

You quit, you come running back, you quit again, you come racing back...You lose again and you harm yourself. You say you won't do it again, but like any type of addiction for some reason you can't get over it....That is my problem. I have harmed myself for the first time. I don't know where this leads but I think it's a deep dark path. 

I hate who I am. I hate what I have become. I have lost all faith in myself, and outside of  hanging my nephew there is nothing that I look forward to doing anymore. I have grown to start to despise sports because I wrapped myself into this gambling world. I hate it. It's pure evil. 

I thought i was getting over this but I can't. I don't know what the next step is, because I'm lying to myself and others. Maybe I will just drink my sorrow, because that seems to work. I don't know if I will return to the message board again, but best of luck to all of you...Many of you will feel my sorrow, some will joke about it but I don't hold grudges. I wish all the best because for once maybe that is the right thing to do.....Wish I would have learned that sooner.
