Looks like I was wrong about what Joe Paterno knew. I still think he is a scapegoat and catching more heat than what some others are.
But I would like to hear all the facts at the end of the day. How much did Joe Paterno know?? I hope all of this is released.
And when is that red head assistant going to get fired? He personally witnessed a horrible crime against a young boy and he calls his dad. And is still on the staff! I feel he is worse than Joe Paterno in all this. I feel the AD and the other guy charged with perjury is worse than Joe Paterno.
But let's not forget that Jerry Sandusky is the ultimate devil in all this.

If he is a devil I hope all the info becomes public.
By him coming out earlier and saying he was retiring I get the feeling he was trying his hardest to strong arm the trustees to keep him around. That leads me to believe he knows a lot.

Joepa has been fired & deserves heat from everyone until the day they stick him in his grave. Joepa was culpable in allowing a monster to continue to be in his presence (for years) full well knowing that this guy raped a 10 year old boy. HE KNEW & did nothing. Paterno will rot in hell.

Maybe Paterno is the devil and absolutely wrong but don't say he didn't do anything. He reported it and drove him off his coaching staff. And how much he knew is still unknown. I hope it all comes out.
The AD and and the other guy who downplayed everything that was reported to them are the real devils. 2nd to Jerry Sandusky of course.

And his retirement package from the university, not Joe Paterno, allowed him an office and full access to the athletic facilities. that's why I think the higher ups are more responsible for this.
But obviously Joe Paterno is part of the problem as well.

He forced him off his staff. That's a fact.

Well he knew one of his ex QB's/offensive coaches saw him sodomizing a young boy, yet he still was okay with Sandusky at practice last week with a minor.............thats enough for me
and thats the least we know

What we need to know is how much Joe Paterno knew.
And the university, not Joe Paterno, allowed Sandusky full access to everything as part of is retirement package.
Now it appears Joe could have been more vigilant than he was. But don't blame Joe for all of this. Yes, most of us would react differently but only Joe was in those shoes.

The only thing we really know is that Joe Paterno was told by a clearly distraught McQueary that he clearly saw and heard Sandusky molesting a 10 year old in the penn state showers. I also think it's pretty clear that Paterno didn't think McQueary was lying.
With just those facts, we know enough to make some judgment on Paterno. Really, the only things that can come out now can only make it worse, not better. Hopefully for him he wasn't specifically aware of even more.

every single person who had a hint of knowledge into this should be fired at the very least
I am not a conspiracy guy generally, but I would not be surprised if this is even more sordid and complicated than it already is.
Now that the legal system is involved, you can bet that there will be some people lining up to make a plea. Just have to let it play out. But I am 100% convinced there is a lot more to this than what has already come out.

He didn't drive him off of his staff.....he was already OFF staff............
BUT he did let him still run a boys charity on campus and say nothing publicly...........he's got a lot to be sorry for
Check out www.thesecondmile.org and check out the honorary board of directors. Scroll down the list and you'll see the name Matt Millen, along with many other well known people. Next .... view the youtube video of Matt Millen breaking down on ESPN on the Penn St. scandal. Watch Matt's eyes and emotions before he almost comes tears ..... it appears to me that he seems to be about something ( like the $hit is really about to hit the fan). There's a story ( not confirmed yet! ) going around that Sandusky pimped out children from this charity to rich donors! If this turns out to be true, than this is really gonna get ugly!

Just listened to this on the radio....... WOW! This story going to get musch worse!
Madden wrote an interesting article with some interesting observations, but he didn't include any facts to back it up. I do think he raises some pretty serious questions and it sounds like people are digging to try and answer them.
It certainly looks like this thing could blow sky high.
