IT'S NOT MY FUKKIN RESPONSIBILITY! I DON'T GIVE A DAMN.
I'll take care of my family and friends when they need help.
If you care so much what are you going to do? As an individual, what are you willing to sacrifice to help out someone you don't know?
no, i saw it, but i was initially responding to your solution in post #34 as i didn't think it was consistent with reality. if your response is, who gives a f*ck, that's fine but it's not so much of a solution.
i am willing to have some of my tax money go to these families where a mom needs help with kids. i'm willing to help some of these families with legal services.

i think the answer is that she has to pay to hire a lawyer and the have to file child support paperwork and/or garnishment paperwork with the court and they have to pay to have someone serve the dad and they have to prove he is the father and they have to prove that he can afford a certain amount in child support and then the judge has to issue an order.
Nope. Dept. of health and human services takes care of it all. Just another example of how the lifestyle of others costs the rest of the country. Might as well wonder how these baby mommas obtain social security cards or food stamps too

not where i live. they might help a few people, but they don't do all of the work in many situations and they are only equipped to help a few of the people who need them. they are way, way backed up, as you might expect. there are a lot of people out there not supporting their kids. plus, they often don't help with enforcement and without enforcement, a child support order is just a piece of paper.

We're the wealthiest country in the world. We're the empire. We can afford to treat our least fortunate citizens with respect and dignity.
I think we should give them more help.
Let's stop invading countries and start helping our own citizens.
That's where you and I differ.
I define least fortunate as someone born with down syndrome or MS or some other debilitating disease which prevents them from functioning in everyday life.
You define least fortunate as someone born a certain skin color. The definition for that is called social justice.

Cano, did you go to public schools at any point in your life? Because, I'm trying to figure out how your education is my responsibility.
I did go to public school. My parents paid taxes. And now I pay taxes.
I'm not against paying taxes for public roads and education (infrastructure as you libs like to call it).
You are conflating different issues to try and make a point. Your tax dollars in Massachusetts didn't pay for my public school in Louisiana and nor should they.

I've used that same argument when it comes to voter ID cards but that's an argument for another day.

You're the only one talking about skin color. I was born to two educated parents that gave me every opportunity possible. I can acknowledge that I was lucky and I can look to help people that weren't provided with the same opportunities in life. I had guidance, love, financial support, mental support, strong role models and people around me that set good examples.
How did you grow up? If people aren't lucky enough to be born into ideal conditions I think a country as wealthy as the United States can step up to the plate and provide some of the basics.

Free college for anyone that can maintain a GPA above 3.0.
I think I'm going to put my name in the hat for president.
I can go for that as long as they can pass a standardized test. The reason I say that is because a few years ago the valedictorian from a New Orleans public school did not do good on the ACT so she wasn't able to take advantage of the scholarships she received. I think she had a 4.0 GPA in high school but was in single digits on the ACT.

OK... let's get to the reason behind all of this. There are two reasons poor people recieve assistance.
1. It makes the country more pleasurable for the rich. Safer/easier/more enjoyable etc. Nobody wants to walk past a family of six eating out of the trash on their way to buy a Rolex.
2. Big corporations profit from the assistance. Take away the assistance and the major corporations would take a major hit to their bottom line.

My parents graduated from high school but I wouldn't say they were educated. I did have the same love and support from them that you had from your parents and for that words can't describe how grateful I am for that. They also taught me personal responsibility.
I grew up middle class at best. I went to college. My parents helped where they could but the bulk of my college was paid by the military. I joined the Army when I was seventeen. At seventeen years old I had drill sergeants yelling in my face for a few months and in return I got tuition exemption and a monthly GI Bill.
Technically my college education came from the govt but I had to make that sacrifice to join the military to get it.

Ah ha, I knew it all along. YOU are one of those hypocrites that reap the benefits of our government, but you don't want anyone less fortunate to benefit because you were a big hero.
You didn't sacrifice crap ! The army took you in and tried to SMARTEN you up, but they obviously failed . You certainly deserved someone yelling in you face, you're thick headed.

Ok, let's use Killer B's example. A lady has 6 kids and there's no responsible male in the picture. How does Train69 deal with that situation? Do you think the kids should live in a cave in the woods and live off of berries?
Typical response is - she shouldn't have had six kids if she can't support them.
But she does.
So, how would Train69 deal with this situation?
-popcorn-
Sure, in this extreme example, I dont mind helpin the kids. The problem with this situation is:
A) 6 kids with no man around means multiple baby daddys
B) The women probably had the kids in order to get the assistance
C) The kids that grow up in this environment are doomed to repeat the cycle, because afterall, why work when you can have babies with zero responsibility (either not providing or just plain leaving)
The problem with your thinkin, and many like yourself, is you are treating the symptoms, not the sickness. Throwing money at lazy and or ignorant people fuels the fire....What kinda world would we be in if everyone had the mentality of just have as many kids as you want and the govt will take care of you. China had to step in and thats exactly what the US should do. Reproductive limitations dependent upon ability to support.
How many of the govt aid people have 6+ kids, are single and unable to work? Pretty sure thats a small number.
I'll just keep paying taxes and support these people and my family. I have morals & pride. I guess thats something you learn from your parents.....or don't

Then force chronic welfare recipients into the army to continue their benefits. There's an extreme difference from someone joining the army to better himself then some low life wh*re popping out babies to get a check. It's child abuse

I was thinking the same thing. Cano you should have fathered 6 kids and let them live off welfare instead. Then Donny would have given you a pat on the back. Priceless!
