i'm pretty sure i know why lantern was more miserable then normal this weekend,,,,sadly,,,,when you live in mommy's basement you can't afford to take many trips,,,,and he missed out on an event that is very near and dear to his heart.........................
he doesn't get many opportunities to rock his lantern costume in public......................

Its a real shock to be as I thought and was told I am going to get a tether instead. However, that is not the case. I don't want sympathy, or a bunch of ass rape jokes. Im looking for some insight and maybe some advice on how to deal with it.
Im not a violent offender, actually Im a first time offender who got caught with a lot of marijuana.
Thoughts are welcomed......
#1 Im from Michigan, Macomb County and I got caught a few years back with about 1/4 LB. and I got 6 months of probation and like 700 in fines and costs. Thats it. And I was a previous offender for posession. I had like no testing at all because I paid all my fines and costs up front on my first visit and I was done after 6 months.
And yes I did get sentenced in Macomb County Circuit court, not district. I was surprised myself as my probation officer requested that I file a motion to be released early because I was originally sentenced to a year of probation. At the same time this happened to me I had another friend that lived very close to me that was doing it big time and got caught like 2 weeks after me. He was a first time offender also who got caught with $60,000 in cash, 1 lb. separated and bagged, 3 unregistered guns etc...and he was looking at some serious time but escaped all jail time with a teather and a hefty fine..I also use to work for a guy when I was younger that is actually my best friends sisters husband now and he got caught like 8 years ago with 150 lbs. and excaped major jail time with about $30,000 in costs and fines and 3 years of probation. So im finding it somewhat hard to believe that you are getting 9 mths for Marijuana. Our jails in Macomb county are already crowded not to mention Oakland county...If you are speaking the truth, you will do no more than 3 months and they will let you go. I guarantee it..They are aiming at keeping the REAL CRIMINALS in there because it is costing the state too much money to keep people locked up for petty crimes.

I had the best attorney money can buy. I have no record, and hold a great job. Over 20 lbs
This is a complete lie, you will not do 7.5 months with that small amount of weed. I know someone that got popped with a 100 lbs, and paid his way out of it. Save the bs kiddo, because I KNOW YOU ARE LYING

I got charged with a firearm in a search of my house as well. It was an antique rifle from my deceased grandfather. That antique rifle was hidden in the basement, along with some of his other possessions. Far far away, from the marijuana. I never touched the gun, and didn't even know it was in the house. As the house is my parents.
In order for them to drop the felony firearm, I had to plea to the marijuana.

As other's have said, no offense, but what are you doing with that much pot if you have a good job, family, etc? There's just no need for that much on you unless your job is selling drugs, but I'm guessing/hoping you've realized that at this point. I'm an attorney and will give you some advice; read, keep busy, work if you can get a job and generally don't stick out. You won't be doing 9 months if you stay out of trouble (that means NOT fighting the first person you see), and it never hurts to form at least a few friendships in case things do get out of hand. Good luck, stay safe.

And is it disturbing to anyone else how many people are on here that apparently have done time in one form or another, or that have relatives who have done time?

Not really. Never done state or fed but Ive been in county plenty of times and Im middle class and went to and graduated from a good college. It happens, its life.
All you have to do is break the law on probation no matter how minor, drive on a suspended license, have a gun in the car, get in a fight at the bar etc. Life is full of slimeballs who will rat you out for no good reason. Plenty of normal people who do no harm to anyone who have to go to jail unfairly.
And when you go to court and see dudes in thier wearing throwbacks you know there is no way they can go a long time without getting locked up and theyll know plenty of people inside. Not everyone can drop 20-50k on a lawyer to stay out of jail for 6 months.
I feel bad for this kid and hope his 9 months is quick and easy, he should be OK its afterwards where he will probably suffer more. Which is why you just dont pay too much attention to anybody no matter how cool they seem you dont want to be like anyone who is in jail. Make yourself better from the experience dont come out thinking your the man cause you did a bid and made some boys inside.
PS- Whatever he made off of flipping 20 packs was probably worth the risk and more money than he could have made working a job, even if he was hurting noone doing it. Thats the reason he was able to make money selling pot. If they legalized it there would be nothing to be made off it and lots of people I know would have to get jobs and drastically change tghier lifestyle.

The communist government of the united states just wants your money. Without the Weed Business the country would fall on its face. Weed business rents about %50 per cent of all high end hotels and makes up about 61% of luxury good sales. Thank You for supporting your country. Make sure your lawyer sets up a easy location like Lompoc CALIFORNIA nice golf gret people. Vietnam Veteran here and you have all my support. Early release almost every time with the budget woes. Bruce Griffen Flagstaff AZ( The best criminal lawyer in the country) Good luck and God speed [/Quote]
